President Obama spends the day marking the six-month anniversary of the signing of the new health care law. But is the president all alone?
Most Democrats on the campaign trail have not only been reluctant to tout health care reform, in many cases theyve distanced themselves from it entirely.
At Tuesdays briefing White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs noted that the president is not directing the messaging or ads for individual candidates. Obviously theyll do what they think and what they believe is best in terms of what they want to talk about in their districts.
HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius did her best to push back on the notion that Democrats were running away from the law in an interview with Politico, saying that a variety of members of Congress were talking to their constituents about it. I think its a bit of a one-sided approach saying thats not going on. I would suggest that it is very much going on.
Still, as the Washington Posts Anne E. Kornblut points out President Obama is assuming the role of solo champion of the law as vulnerable Democrats across the country focus on other talking points.

Problem was he didn't close the sale the first time.
If they voted for it ... they cannot distance themselves from it.
Doesn’t matter, they will keep doing it over and over and over til finally they wear us down and ‘convince’ us it’s good for us, to kill us.
The morons who voted for this monster are now discovering that the Free Health Care, isn’t “free” and they are pissed...............
looks like Barry has been schooled in the Sandler method...
Why?
Because mere “Change” does not spell “reform”.
Because “health care and health insurance dictators” does not constitute “reform”.
Because merely switching what we must spend from our private choices to political programs run by government does not spell “cost reduction”.
Because merely destroying private markets in order to grow the depth, breadth and reach of a tyrannical central government does not spell LIBERTY.
