WASHINGTON - Former Tennessee Gov. Winfield Dunn will be in Memphis Oct. 9 for a fundraiser breakfast for 9th Congressional District Republican candidate Charlotte Bergmann, he confirmed this afternoon.

"She is our nominee and from all that I've been told she's a fine person with excellent credentials, and it's on that basis I agreed to come down and lend what influence I might to her efforts," Dunn said. "She's someone I look forward to meeting."

Bergman is running against Democratic incumbent Steve Cohen.

"I believe this particular year is the one in which great things are going to happen," Dunn said.

With a few extra $$ a candidate with the Ronald Reagan message could win, especially given the job loss, the higher taxes and obamacare. Reagan proved that when he won.

I know the Dems think the US 9th TN is a Dem SAFE distirct. But we have an arrogant POS 2 term obama butt kisser Steve Cohen. Who says he votes like a black woman, (he’s a white, Jew) BUT won’t debate his black, GOP, Memphis Tea Party backed candidate she won 61% of the primary vote over 2 other male candidates.

I hope Bergmann wins but the reality of the situation must be dealt with.

Cohen is a white Jew with the typical liberal white guilt complex when it comes to blacks. His black constituants have been playing him like a fiddle and Cohen has been playing his part to keep them on the democrat plantation.

Bergmann is the strong black woman who is likely to tell the plantation population to go get a job.

State GOP must have a good idea a Bergmann win is doable. Dunn doesn’t campaign for just any candidate.
