In their day they wouldn’t have thought that possible. They were concerned about equal rights for Episcopalians, Presbyterians, Methodists, Baptists, Quakers, Jews. . . . .

There was an interesting column in the Monday Wall Street Journal by Fouad Ajami, "Islam's Encounters with America," which debunks a lot of what the liberal elite has been telling us. He quotes a poll that was taken in the Arab world that showed that 58% of them were against the Ground Zero mosque (they saw it as "a project of folly").

Does anyone here wonder why the folks who are so zeaolous on the comparatively trivial question of where to build a mosque rarely, if ever, bother to say anything about an issue of much greater substance: the continuing cleansing of Iraq's Christian population by our Shi'ite "democratic" ally in Iraq, courtesy of the American taxpayer. Perhaps they don't seem to particularly care because calling attention to the disappearing Christian population since the removal Saddam contradicts their pro-world policing playbook that our presence in Iraq is beneficial.
