Workforce Center Prepares For Cessna Layoffs

Cessna's announcement regarding 700 layoffs comes after months of tapering unemployment in Wichita. The regional Workforce Center says it hasn't recorded layoffs in the hundreds for months, and didn't expect anymore bulk job cuts as a result of this recession. But now, the center's gearing up to assist hundreds who are about to need help finding jobs.

"It's draining emotionally, you know," said one Cessna worker who was recently called back to work after getting laid off months ago. "I had to make a whole lot of changes in my life and my family."

That says it all, right there.

He's raising money for incumbents, no new candidates. Anyone scared of losing their job in congress likely deserves to lose it.

Note that the "cash cow" comment only addresses aviation-specific raping of the tax payer. I guess Obamacare, Cap n Trade, etc, etc, have no bearing on our taxes, general economy, or disposable income - which all play a role in a pilot's ability to participate in GA.

As usual with single-issue voters (and PACs), they fail to see (or ignore) the big picture where helping their particular cause can come around to kick them in the butt on another.
