Murkowski NOT stripped of committee leadership position
CNN ^

Washington (CNN) - In a surprise move, Senate Republicans decided not to remove Sen. Lisa Murkowski from her top position on the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Wednesday, according to several Republican senators who refused to explain their decision.

Republicans had indicated as recently as Tuesday she was likely to lose her seniority on the committee as penalty for her write-in candidacy in Alaska.

A GOP source in the room tells CNN, despite anger towards Murkowski, the conference decided not to even take up the question of the Senate Energy Committee post because "there was a sense that she's resigned her leadership post, she lost her primary, she will probably lose her race, and she'll be gone. She will not be ranking [Republican] because she will not be here."

This, despite strong words from colleagues like Sen. John Cornyn a day earlier, who was among many Republicans who predicted they would remove her from the committee post.

Sen. Murkowski resigned her position as vice chair of the GOP Conference Friday.

F 'em.

All donations to individual races and not a dime to the RNC or NRSC.

Evidently Mitch & Co. won’t risk another Lisa defection from a filibuster (she didn’t vote on the defense bill cloture motion yesterday).

The Jackels and Haenas who run the National GOP and those buzzards in particular, Boehner and McConnell, never cease to amaze me.

If they lack the testacles to stand up to a maverick traitor, how in the world could anyone expect them to stand up to BO and the Democrats?

"she didn’t vote on the defense bill cloture motion yesterday"

I was guessing that she was in some kind of an AWOL snit given the vote count.

This is BS. If she had accepted her primary defeat with grace toward the party and endorsed the party candidate, she should finish up her career with her leadership positions intact until her term expires. But when she s***s on the party’s selection process by not supporting the party’s candidate, and then wants to run as an “independent,” which further s***s on the party, screw her. Strip her of everything and ask for the party’s money back.

As I said, this is BS. We still have a LOT more purging to do in the GOP.

My guess is that Murkowski threatened to throw her vote in with the Democrats should she win. When you are dealing with people who have no principles, anything can happen.

Time to melt down some phone lines.

The only card Loserowski has to play as a write-in candidate is her committee seniority. By refusing to properly sanction her for attacking the GOP nominee, the GOP leadership is tacitly supporting her bogus candidacy.

We’ll replace every damn one of you if we have to.

This will give her write-in campaign more steam just when it was flagging.

She probably promised them she wouldn’t go nuclear with her votes during the lame duck congress if she kept her position. And we all know how good a RINO’s word is.

I just made comments on another thread that said they had punished her.

WTF is going on?

They need to drop her like a used condom.
