“They really keep stepping in $hit, don’t they?”

Like snails step in slime, yes.

They need to drop her like a used condom.

For more than 20 years, that has been how they have dropped us at the end of every election cycle.

Well, I didn’t notice Lisa leaving the Senate before betraying her party.

I guess we should add Orrin Hatch to the list of people who need to be broomed out of the leadership.

Stupid is as stupid does.

Orrin Hatch.

Good-bye to him in 2012.

Stupid Senate GOP strick again. Of course its symbolic, THATS THE POINT. She betrayed the party and now actively trying to hurt it and the Senate Republicans just shrug, "We don't want to add more harm to injury." WHY THE HELL NOT!?

She knows where at least one key body is buried now then, doesn’t she.

Well then, it’s okay if I end up having to wear a burka while sitting in a hovel without electricity, just as long as Hatch kept things “in good taste.”

Hatch also deserves panties on his head.

Just let it go. This is a obvious deal after her no-vote threat yesterday. They will leave her be, and she will support the fillibuster of DISCLOSE on Thursday, and Reid’s 2nd attempt on DREAM and/or DADT in the lame duck session. No matter, Joe Miller will win this handily.

Was Smirkowski keeping her seat a McConnell-engineered move?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Another thread had a fuller report. Apparently she resigned from her leadership position in lieu of being “stripped” of it.

I know I owe you a link on that, but will have to look for it in a while.

Way to represent your constituents.

This would be reason enough not to do a write-in vote for the witch. It has the makings of a good campaign ad.

I long for the days of pre-Obummer-beating-Hillary. When there were more thoughtful posts from those that understand politics and how our go ernment works than the silly knee-jerk reactions. This place has become a looney bin. There. I’ve said it. Come what may.

Lisa should have accepted her loss with grace. That said, she is a loose cannon until her term is over. She has nothing to lose. Do people around here want her so riled that she crosses the aisle and vote yes to card check or some other nightmare the dems cook up? We only have one vote, that is Scott Brown, to stop the dems at the moment.

My guess is that a deal was made and that is why no one is talking about the decision.

I suspect that many of the posters saying such things -- but not all -- are moles from the other side whose vitriol serves two purposes, (1) foment outrage and (2) ensure that when they are finished, the body of the thread looks looney when seen by a disinterested observer.

That way, when they're done, they can point to the thread as evidence of unwashed ignorance.

We all should be on guard and be more thoughtful and measured in what we write. That way, we avoid the snare.

I first came to love FR during the contested Bush-Gore election. It was a comforting source of accurate, well-thought information and analysis. It was far less emotional and a lot less loud-mouthed.

Those have been my exact thoughts for quite some time except I believe they are trying to sway our thinking believing us to be completely stupid. Obviously, this won’t happen, but it has made reading FR feel as if I am visiting the DUmp.
