Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert is slated to testify at a congressional hearing Friday on immigration titled “Protecting America’s Harvest,” two sources have told The Daily Caller. One Republican source said Colbert will be testifying “in character,” the Bill O’Reilly-like muse Colbert uses for his show.
A Judiciary Committee spokeswoman, confirming Colbert would testify, said the hearing matter was a “serious issue . . . this is not a TV stunt.”
Some Republicans have already expressed unhappiness with Colbert witnessing at the hearing, thinking it would make light of a serious issue. The hearing is before the House Judiciary Committee’s immigration subcommittee....
What’s next, Tila Tequila to testify on monetary policy?
If you piled every piece of bullsh*t in your life in to one gigantic pile, this would outweigh and out tower it.

Your tax dollars at work...
I am so sick of the circus acts that pass for “serious Congressional hearings.”
What does this mean?
How about Candice Bergen testifying "in character" as Murphy Brown? What would critics of Dan Quayle say about that?

Ridiculous. Truly ridiculous.
I believe that if I were a member of that committe, I would make a specific point of getting up and leaving as Colbert gets ready to testify.
Stevie, we get the joke. It’s just not funny.
One day is Lady Gaga getting national media attention about homos in the military, now it’s Colbert re: immigration. Somehow, celebrity = expertise.
Just a few minutes ago I listened to the 3:00pm radio news report - from Fox News, I believe. One of the top stories, complete with audio that had screaming lunatics in the background, was a store about new judges for the American Idol tv show (for the record: I have never seen it). Now I see this.
Is it any wonder our nation is fading fast?
What the hell does he know about anything!
This is exactly why we need to clean house (among other things).
I read this, yet my mind cannot comprehend how this can be serious. Unbelievable. No wonder our country is going to h*ll.
idiotic
store = story
How about this? They stay in their seats but start talking on their cell phones and texting.
“Celebrities - is there ANYTHING they don’t know?” - Homer Simpson
Colbert has also been making requests to some congressional offices to film some of his famous “Better Know a District” segments.
