Stephen Colbert to testify before House immigration subcommittee Friday
Daily Caller ^ | September 22, 2010 | Jonathan Strong

Comedy Central host Stephen Colbert is slated to testify at a congressional hearing Friday on immigration titled “Protecting America’s Harvest,” two sources have told The Daily Caller. One Republican source said Colbert will be testifying “in character,” the Bill O’Reilly-like muse Colbert uses for his show.

A Judiciary Committee spokeswoman, confirming Colbert would testify, said the hearing matter was a “serious issue . . . this is not a TV stunt.”

Some Republicans have already expressed unhappiness with Colbert witnessing at the hearing, thinking it would make light of a serious issue. The hearing is before the House Judiciary Committee’s immigration subcommittee....

Stephen Colbert is a “fake” Bill O’Reily. Since he will be testifying under a fake identity, he can be assumed to be lying before Congress. Proceed.

Al Franken was selected, not elected. Never forget it was corrupt judges in black dresses who seated Frankenfraud, a man who manufactured votes and had illegal felon votes tallied to make a “win”.

Stephen Colbert was invited by Zoe Lofgren (D-CA)

I just spoke to a Republican member of the Subcommittee and they are NOT happy! In fact, they think the Democrats have lost their minds!

Record foreclosures, record poverty, record deficit, high unemployment...perfect time for jokes on the taxpayer’s dime.

Dee Snyder endorsed Al Gore in 2000. It was still a stunt in the man-in-makeup’s case.

Geez, Al Franken is an elected US senator and we’re surprised Colbert would be called to testify before congress?

Might was well ask Sigourney Weaver how to deal with aliens.

..or James Cameron consult with BP on how to close a wild deep sea well.

Stephen Colbert is a “fake” Bill O’Reily.

So 5 years from now, liberals will be reminding us what BOR said in congress? Maybe they should get Tina Fey down there to testfy as Sarah Palin too.

We already have Al Franken playing a Senator and Nancy Pelosi playing Speaker of the House. Why not add one more clown?

Our government has turned into a giant 3 ring circus.

I believe that if I were a member of that committe, I would make a specific point of getting up and leaving as Colbert gets ready to testify.

Or everybody bring a remote, and when he starts to testify point them at him like you're trying to change the channel.

In 2012 the Pravda Media will invited Tina Fey to answer debate questions on behalf of Sarah Palin.

After all, the public already attributes fake Fey quotes as genuine Palin remarks.

Same with the Stalinist “wikiquotes” that shoved racist words into Rush Limbaugh’s mouth.

The Pravda Media knows what they are doing.

I just spoke to somone in the office of the Subcommittee. He said that the President of the United Farm Workers went on Stephen Colbert’s show to advertise the “Take our jobs campaign” and invited Colbert to join him in the fields to “experience the day in the life of a farm worker”.

That is what Colbert is going to testify about tomorrow.

The number to the Subcommittee is: 202-225-3926

TAKE OUR JOBS CAMPAIGN

There are two issues facing our nation—high unemployment and undocumented people in the workforce—that many Americans believe are related.

Missing from the debate on both issues is an honest recognition that the food we all eat - at home, in restaurants and workplace cafeterias (including those in the Capitol) - comes to us from the labor of undocumented farm workers.

Agriculture in the United States is dependent on an immigrant workforce. Three-quarters of all crop workers working in American agriculture were born outside the United States. According to government statistics, since the late 1990s, at least 50% of the crop workers have not been authorized to work legally in the United States.

We are a nation in denial about our food supply. As a result the UFW has initiated the “Take Our Jobs” campaign.

Farm workers are ready to welcome citizens and legal residents who wish to replace them in the field. We will use our knowledge and staff to help connect the unemployed with farm employers. Just fill out the form to the right and continue on to the request for job application.

TAKE ACTION:

Exciting News. UFW President Arturo Rodriguez was on Comedy Central’s Colbert Report talking about the UFW’s Take Our Jobs campaign. If you haven’t see it please watch the video.

Well, that explains everything. Lofgren is a disgrace.

“experience the day in the life of a farm worker”.

Wow a whole day huh? I did actual years of farm work, why can't I testify?

So the subcommittee should have invited UFW President Arturo Rodriguez, not Colbert. Maybe someone could ask him why he thinks real farm wages have not risen in 25 years? Could it be....the fact that there is an unlimited supply of illegal labor exerting downward pressure on their wages?

I’d like to testify on the molecular structure of the subparticles in caffeine and how they’re related to potential cures for cancer.

After all, I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night!
