The move by some health insurance companies to scrap child-only policies has many questioning whether insurance providers will try to circumvent provisions of the new health care reform law in the future. Politically, it has unearthed old tensions between the Obama administration and health care providers at a time when new provisions are being rolled out.
As the Washington Post first reported, concerns about the new law have prompted major insurance providers such as WellPoint, Cigna, CoventryOne, and some Blue Cross and Blue Shield companies to stop offering child-only policies.
Providers will still be prohibited from denying coverage to children with pre-existing conditions, as the health care law requires, but coverage for children under 19 will now be offered in family plans instead of as a separate policy.
The move itself won't impact a large swath of the population; a recent survey by America's Health Insurance Plans (AHIP) found that 6 percent of individual policies are child-only plans. But what makes it significant is that it signals how insurance companies will deal with other provisions of the law in the future.

With all due respect to Mr. Khan, this is how ALL business deals when government makes a certain activity unprofitable. They simply stop doing it.
Children will be the first hit and the first dead. The parents are not allowed to pay to save them. What the he** is happening?
You can't get a policy anymore through your college, you are now on mom and dad's tab, instant-presto-chango 1.1 million policies gone.
When HSA/MSA's become essentially outlawed, instant-presto-chango, another 9 million people scramble for a federally blessed policy.
These numbers and niches are gone and now homogenized. Where is the competition? They are reducing the options...
Then, they took the insurance for the children.
I said nothing.
Then, they came for me.
A company, like an animal, will fight to survive.
I don’t have exact figures but insurance companies have assets in the trillion dollar range. This is essentially a takeover. The greedy democrats do not care who dies in the process.
The Rats expected the insurance companies to just roll over and take losses for their investors.
The Rats live in a make believe world. Oh, it's their world is real enough for them alright, they see to that with every law they pass, but the life they lead bears absolutely NO resemblance to the life you and I live. They are insulated from virtually every annoyance, big and small, of life in 21st Century America. Aggravations I would hasten to add come in no small part from their constant encroachment on our freedoms at every level.
Get their lives back to what you and I have to tolerate every day, day in and day out, and you would see see a huge change in their attitudes! There are simply not words that are acceptable here to express my opinion of government and its minions at every level, and the myriad of ways they find to make our lives more difficult.
Why pay for insurance on a kid up to 26. If they get sick you can add them to your policy. Writing on the wall.

In their eyes, Obama and the dems are their saviors. These people buy the 24/7 propaganda which permeates throughout entertainment, news, soft sciences/liberal arts, group think etc... It would only be by the grace of God that rationalization might occur among the Obama Zombies as well as actually understand history and the consequences/rewards associated with past actions. The teaching of certain types of history is being whitewashed/deconstructed/ignoring conclusions, for a reason in education. An ignorant Zombie is an obedient Zombie.

"Gee. Ya' think."
Morons. This move was coming like 98 mph fastball.

Seniors will be the first hit, then kids, neither one contribute to society. They only need a few kids to survive in order to keep the work force up to commie levels.
I thought NObama wanted children to be allowed to stay on parents policy until they were 26???
By the time I was 26, I owned my own home—in 1966.
