The small but rapidly escalating conflict between China and Japan just hit a new high, as four Japanese were caught trespassing in a Chinese military zone and videotaping military targets.

State authorities in northern China's Shijiazhuang announced the arrest late Thursday night, saying only "The case is being investigated," according to Xinhua.

The arrest follows another incident Thursday afternoon when a group of Hong Kong activists were intercepted by marine police while heading for contested water, according to The Standard.

Japan may have more to lose in discord than China, simply because its sputtering economy could needs a regional partner.

The very best thing that could happen to the world would be a return to Nationalism. Get away from this suicidal move to One World hocus pocus. In a sane world, China would be isolated economically because of their treatment of the workers, their dictatorial govt and inability to attract investors. The way things are, they are in a prime position to control the world without firing a shot. THAT is wrong on some many levels.

The world is devolving into war in the space of the giant power vacuum created by Obama:

1. Hezbollah/ Syria/ Gaza against Israel.
2. Israel against Iran
3. North Korea against South Korea
4. China against Japan

The Japanese know the ChiComs (1) have something to hide and (2) have designs on control of ALL of Pacific Asia. They also know that the Chinese see THEM as their most potent and direct REGIONAL threat to do that economically — and perhaps militarily. Japan is just trying to protect themselves.

One would hope that Japan is coming out of their decades long (and understandable) pacifism in the wake of WWII, and that they are prepared to quick;y arm to protect themselves. Perhaps to even “Nuke Up,” considering the Norkies ALREADY have nukes and hate the Japanese, and the Chinese are also nuclear. You KNOW they have the blueprints ant the wherewithall to do it — if they feel threatened and realize they can’t trust or rely on the US, would they be willing to rearm for self preservation?

I believe so — and I think that’s their right. And I’d hate to lose Japan to the ChiComs actually or figuratively. A strong and economically free Japan is GOOD for the free world, but one under the thumb of a Communist Chinese superpower would be devastating not only to Asia bout globally.

On a map, paint a whale over China, Japanese will kill it within the hour.

A strong and free Japan? When did that happen?

You can’t call China “communist” with such a broad brush. There is a communist party, but the country’s real power is its centuries old institutions and its rising entrepreneurship, something Japan lacks. Sorry, I can’t support Japan.
