Mike Pence makes an amazing speech to Hillsdale.

One of the best of our times. There have been several postings the past few days, but keep posting. The more that hear or read that speech the better for our nation. As it stands now, I am hoping Pence runs for president in 2012.
I don’t care what he says I can’t support a congressman for president, Legislators make bad executives.
The man needs executive not legislative experience.
* Run a company.
* Join a leadership roll in the miltiary (The miltiary is all executive(working with others to carry out the lawful mandates.))
* Run for local or State executive office.
There are a lot of ways Mike Pence can get executive experience and demonstrate his qualifying executive skills.
The point is I cannot support a man running for president if he has not executive experience demonstrating his executive skills. Sorry Mike, no Presidency till you got yourself executive experience.
He's leagues more appealing than Romney and the other liberals the mediots are trying to shove down our throats.
His making exception for the “Civil War” while necessary for the consistency with the republican parties history is morally as unacceptable to me as it is untenable. Who is to define what crises alow’s the president to disregard the constitution?
It is merely to suppress the inalienable right of self-determination?
I say dam consistency with tyrannical nut-cases. Up with the sound reasoning of our founders not our enslavers/conquerers.
The Republican party has sined in this regard just as the northern Democratic party as sined in this most essential regard.
I will not sell my soul to sew in untenable exceptions to our rights excuses the actions of a tyrant 150 years ago just to make things sound more Consistent today. What matters is not the republican party of 50 years ago, or 150 years ago. What matters is the republican party of today.

How so? Also, please be specific as this applies to Michael Pence.
I am not up on Presidential Powers. I often wonder what a good President with Spunk could do in his first day to eliminate a lot of our mess. I think he might be able to cancel out a lot of the mess quick quick.

By the way, regarding Mike Pence: He was named president of a conservative state think tank based in Fort Wayne, Indiana known as the Indiana Policy Review Foundation.
Pence began his career in radio broadcasting in 1992 and two years later, Network Indiana syndicated his show throughout the state of Indiana. “The Mike Pence Show” aired Monday through Friday on 18 stations. He also hosted a Sunday morning political television show in Indianapolis from 1995-1999.
Looks to me like he had some executive experience. ;-)
Also: The ACU honored Congressman Pence in 2006 with the Courage Under Fire Award, which recognizes those who have stood for principle when doing so puts them at risk physically, politically or economically. Past recipients include Charlton Heston, Wayne LaPierre, and Ambassador John Bolton.
In 2005, Congressman Pence was named “Man of the Year” by the leading conservative publication Human Events for his leadership on behalf of fiscal discipline. Previous honorees include President Ronald Reagan and the late Supreme Court Chief Justice William Rehnquist and Justices Clarence Thomas and Antonin Scalia.
You might want to reconsider Mike Pence.
Still, when “everything” is not equal, I'll vote for a conservative without executive experience vs. a Leftie with it every time.
I just had a chance to listen to the Mike Pence speech on the presidency. Moving and powerful. I found myself clapping and talking out loud to my computer in agreement with his words!
I kept picturing him in a white wig and tricorn hat. He reminds me of George Washington!

If you say so, but its really not that hard for Mike to demonstrate his executive skills. He should get to doing that sooner rather then later.
Having good values is not enough to be president.
The Presidency is not about good values, thats what the legislator is for, the presidency is about executing the law made by congress. I don’t pretend to say Mike is not capable of doing that, he simply hasn’t shown that he is, and given the wide spectrum of folk that we can choose from many of which have the same values, I see no reason to take a risk with this man.
Mike should get some experiencing it’s not hard I’m sure he has the the resources, and he certainly has the time.
The truth is it really doesn’t matter if Mike has the right values if he has no the skills/talent to run a large organization. The huge bureaucracy will end up running circles around him.
