Our Judeo Christian God has numerous names however the Moslem god is not the same god as our God. We part ways when Ismhemel was viewed as the blessed one, whereas Judeo Christians see Isaac as being the blessed one. I always find it amusing. Here is Isaac a legitimate son of Abraham and Sarah and Hagar has an illegitimate son, Ishmael and sparks an illegitimate religion - Islam. I resent pushing Islam and Christianty is being erased.
I've always heard that this was the way Islam started, but is there any EVIDENCE of that? Could it be that someone overlaid that onto Islam later, simply to give it some legitimacy in the eyes of the Judeo-Christian world. It's obvious that Mohammed took practices of Judaism and Christianity, and interlaced them with his own ideas, when writing the Koran.
