This week, Fox & Friends, Fox News Channels nationally broadcast morning show, interviewed Pacific Legal Foundation client Bob Slobe, a Sacramento businessman who is barred from using his own property because of oppressive and unjustified federal environmental regulations. The case is Yolo County Farm Bureau v. United States Fish and Wildlife Service.
Watch the interview. http://tinyurl.com/23l9gjr
Says PLF attorney Brandon Middleton: Californias unemployment is the highest in decades, and Bob Slobe wants to put people to work, building an office structure on his Sacramento property. But thanks to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he cant. His land has been labeled as critical habitat for the VELB the Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle a species listed as 'threatened' under the Endangered Species Act."
Heres the outrage: The feds themselves concluded, fully four years ago, that the VELB is no longer threatened and should be removed from the ESA list! But they have dragged their feet, the beetle is still on the list, and the restrictive land use regulations on property owners like Bob Slobe remain in effect and remain a drag on the economy.
With his land roped off from productive use, Bob has to spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to clean up after vagrants who camp out and dump trash on his land (and who have even used the bushes where beetles live for firewood).
Pacific Legal Foundation represents Bob and a broad coalition of businesses, farm owners, and flood-control districts, in a petition demanding that the feds act on their own recommendations and take the beetle off the ESA list. The petition is the first step toward filing a lawsuit if the feds do not stop stalling and delist the VELB.
Carly Fiorina should feature this in her television ads.
He should build it anyway ! Let them try to stop to him and pull a Wounded Knee.
If only she believed it wrong...
sanity will never return
END THE EPA!!!!
“Carly Fiorina should feature this in her television ads.”
Why would she do that? Do you think she really cares about liberty or just wants to get elected?
Fiorina is nothing great, but a vast improvement over Barbara Boxer.
The only critical habitat in the area is government job justification obviously he has not given enough to the local friends of government to get what he wants thats how its done here; almost Chicago Style.
If they will not let him use his own property, the Feds or Locals should pay him its life time market value.
While the city profits from the homeless and social benefits and political corruption systems. Sacramento is nothing but a royal dump of humanity. As far as a major State Capitol, its more like a kluged third world city, even those that work in the area (mostly government types) do not live within Sacramento itself.
Maybe he should turn it into an open picnic and camp area, letting everyone trample the ground and gather fire pit fuel.
Not in this regard. She may claim to believe in "sensible regulation" but knows very well that it is impossible for a mere Senator to do diddly about the current environment ruled the crooked fiat of UN treaty secretariats, crooked Federal judges, tax exempt foundation-funded greenies, and complicit bureaucrats... Unless and until she advocates completely rethinking our approach to land management in this country, Fiorina represents more of the same.
Unfortunately, everything in her background, and especially her long affiliation with Julie Packard, indicates that Carly is far on the wrong side of that fence. IOW, you have no idea what you are talking about.
Kali has shutoff/tore down dams in the interest of protecting some spieces, and now is requiring 20 percent of their power needs to be from ‘’renewable’’ sources by a certain year in the near future. Many of these dams were a source of ‘’renewable’’ energy, now after the loss of them and many jobs Kali demands 20% of their future power needs come from ‘’renewable’’ sources. Go figure.
as usual your astroturfing to keep people for voting for the gop candidate and helping a radical leftist get elected.
believe it or not she was posting that rick scott was a rhino. scott who took on and was attacked and smeared by the hillary and reno justrice dept before this website even existed .
This is nothing more than classic political corruption, no national energy plan and a bunch of charlatans attempting to make others do what they refuse to; pay for their bad ideas. It really does not have anything to do with environment, power requirements or good planning. This is part of the war on the American Citizenry by the political class; for their friends get what they want while the taxpayer has to foot the bill for their life styles.
Just think about the Kilo Decision; I know this area fairly well, do a maps.google.com on: Goethe Park, Rancho Cordova, CA, this is a whole green belt, which is used as a park land area which runs for many miles. The whole concept that this is a limited area is garbage. Most of the surrounding areas are residential and business; if youre a friend of government youll get what you want as long as you can afford the vig; except the average and honest people do not have that leverage.

Well, you’ve got me there.
I fear you are right. When insect rights trump human rights,it’s gone.
Sheesh! One day they call me a right wing radical purist, the next a radical leftist.
And here I was just stating the truth.
You partisans sure are touchy.
No I don't. I have never suggested someone not vote -- or told them how to vote. But you go around sliming FReepers behind their back. At least have a spine and ping me if your are going to post your hateful crap about me. And because I dislike McCain's policies? Sorry - I'm not a sheep.

Lies! I never posted that Rick Scott was a rhino. I did say that YOU support RINOs (Schwarzenegger and McCain, at a minimum).
