Fox and Friends features Cal. landowner who can’t use his land due to beetle regulations

This week, “Fox & Friends,” Fox News Channel’s nationally broadcast morning show, interviewed Pacific Legal Foundation client Bob Slobe, a Sacramento businessman who is barred from using his own property because of oppressive and unjustified federal environmental regulations. The case is Yolo County Farm Bureau v. United States Fish and Wildlife Service.

Says PLF attorney Brandon Middleton: “California’s unemployment is the highest in decades, and Bob Slobe wants to put people to work, building an office structure on his Sacramento property. But thanks to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, he can’t. His land has been labeled as ‘critical habitat’ for the ‘VELB’ – the Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle – a species listed as 'threatened' under the Endangered Species Act."

“Here’s the outrage: The feds themselves concluded, fully four years ago, that the VELB is no longer ‘threatened’ and should be removed from the ESA list! But they have dragged their feet, the beetle is still on the list, and the restrictive land use regulations on property owners like Bob Slobe remain in effect and remain a drag on the economy.”

With his land roped off from productive use, Bob has to spend tens of thousands of dollars trying to clean up after vagrants who camp out and dump trash on his land (and who have even used the bushes where beetles live for firewood).

Pacific Legal Foundation represents Bob and a broad coalition of businesses, farm owners, and flood-control districts, in a petition demanding that the feds act on their own recommendations and take the beetle off the ESA list. The petition is the first step toward filing a lawsuit if the feds do not stop stalling and delist the VELB.

I believe I’d solve the problem with a lighter.

Kali demands 20% of their future power needs come from ‘’renewable’’ sources. Go figure’

They are demanding that 1/3==33.333% of power be renewable by 2025.

They have already lost water to the Central Valley for millions of acres of productive farms. Robert Kennedy Jr was behind that lawsuit. He lives on the east coast, so he doesn’t care.

I wasn’t “trashing Scott” at all. Go take a look.

Why is it that on every thread you appear you accuse long time FReepers that you disagree with as trolls?

Could it be that you are the troll?

Just askin’.

I’m of the mind that beetles should be stepped on. Unless they can sing.
