If General Patraeus is so concerned about koran burning, then he must be terrified of the idea that gay US soldiers will be training & fighting along side of Afghan muslims, who hate gays. When you start insulting these guys with lispy US soldiers, US strategy is gonna take a serious hit.

Plus, when the Taleban & al-Queda find out that US troops are not just infidels, but queer ones, at that, that should definitely improve their fighting spirit & recruitment.

If I were gay, I believe I would be leery about serving in a muslim country. That lisp, tongue stud, or earring might make you a favorite target. I suppose you could claim sexual objector status, & serve your time in San Francisco instead.
