ABC News “This Week” anchor Christiane Amanpour gets interviewed by the Columbia Journalism Review.
Among other topics, she discusses her passion for international reporting, and whether the American audience, particularly the traditional Sunday morning audience, is interested in watching that.
The bottom line is this: I have a mission and my mission has been to bring, through all my work, a broader understanding of the world to U.S. viewers—first with my job at CNN and now at ABC with This Week…
I’m not going to put the cart before the horse. I’m just going to say that I’m pleased with the way we have been received so far. I understand that this is a big challenge. I understand that it is somewhat counterintuitive. And therefore I understand how hard my team and I have to work. But I’m not trying to deliver something that’s foreign.
The Warslut is a female Geraldo. Nothing more. Her “understanding of the world” is something I can do without.
Since when is hating Israel a “broader understanding”?
Since upwards of 150 of the 192 “Countries” in the UN hate Israel. You don’t get much broader than that.
I never did like this ol’gal and she’s not getting any better.

Broader understanding...which translates into acceptance of the liberal agenda and viewpoint.
Amanpor and Katrina vanden Heuvel-separated at birth?
Don’t worry...Christiane will be out of a job soon enough. Installing her as the host of “This Week” (at $2 million a year) was the idea of David Westin, recently forced out as President of ABC News.
With Westin no longer in the executive suite (and Amanpour’s ratings still in the toilet), the folks at Disney will send her packing soon enough. I give her a year in the job, at most.
In a perverse way, I agree with her agenda.
Americans need a vastly more engaged understanding of the world to resist the Anti Americanism and Anti Semitism of folks like Christiane Amanpour.
The world could be much further along in its advancement and well being— which is also a fact withheld by Amanpour and others- if we fully deconstructed her false worldview.
