Marlyn Monroe led a tragic life. Leave it to LIBERALS to exploit her and drug her up for their gain. This was a woman who had promise and with the right people around her, could still be alive today. I believe it was the racy pictures at the time, of her skirt lowing up that mortified Joe. He was a reserved man and didn't want his wife on display like that. Plus the Hollyweird influence was something he was not in agreement with.

Marilyn wasn’t entirely a victim. She played the Hollywood game and played it willingly. She was already self destructive and Elizabeth Taylor made it through and is still alive (husbands/drugs regardless) and she willingly worked like a fiend to break into the inudstry. Joe wanted her to respect herself and grow up and be a real wife and mother, but Marilyn also wanted a Hollywood career.

I put Dimaggio in the same bucket as Sinatra and Ted Williams - sometimes flawed characters with a deep sense of loyalty and honor.

Sinatra dumped Mia Farrow over Rosemary’s Baby and Williams was tough to get close to, but deeply devoted to liflong friends and family, to the point where the latter was able to exploit him.
