hmmmm..this reminds me of a book I read shortly after 911. My world, until that day, was one of absolute cluelessness. I remember having arguments with some online friends over the ‘causes’ of their rage after 911...blahblahblah....
Anyway..the one quote of the book that struck my solar plexis was:
‘Realities are not extinguished by the destruction of their symbols’.
One night, I decided to try out that line in an online Islamist chat room just for ‘research’ purposes. Suffice it to say, that Islamists very much believe that realities ARE indeed extinguished by the destruction of their symbols.
It bended their minds very little....but it told me all I needed to know. These were people that were proud of destroying symbols. Ancient symbols(like the buddhas in Afghanistan)..the symbols of the jewish temple wall(foundation)...the symbols of capitalism in the bombing of the first world trade center...our troops in Yemen, etc.
The only remaining queston now is..will we allow them to destroy every symbol of the judai/christian model before we wake up?
Well I still say we could end this war in less than 10 minutes if we would just nuke one islamic symbol - Mecca.

They believe we’ll be demoralized by the destruction of such material ‘symbols’ - The World Trade Towers, Statue of Liberty - because material symbols are vitally important to Muslims.
So, would Islam survive the obliteration of Mecca and Qom, whether man caused by a hydrogen bomb, or by an act of God, say a meteorite hit?
