Just received an NRA-ILA alert concerning Pa House Bill 40. This is Pennsylvania's Castle Doctrine bill. The vote on the discharge petition has now been scheduled for this afternoon. In order to get HB40 to the house floor this petition must be approved. If you are a PA resident, call your Congressman and urge him to vote yes on this discharge petition.
Fingers crossed for you guys...
Thanks!! This is about the only thing missing in Pa’s gun rights. Our only other problem is that we now have cities (Pittsburgh and Philly) passing gun laws in violation of the states pre-emption law that says local municipalities cannot pass gun laws more restrictive than state laws. They both have passed laws about reporting stolen guns to the police within 72 hours. They should get overturned once they wind their way through the courts.
After the Castle Doctrine, our state would be perfect (gun rights wise) if we did away with conceal carry permits and allowed everyone to conceal carry without a permit. However, I don’t see that happening anytime soon.
Keep working at it.
Here in MN, we have Tom Emmer(R) running for Governor. He's the one that tried to get the legislature to pass a version of the Firearms Freedom Act that other States have passed.
I'm hoping we can try and get enough of a push to get a Castle Doctrine movement here, but it's a tough row to hoe here in lib-tard infested MN.
Well let’s also get rid of the requirement to register all gun sales with the state.
Just called my rep Daley. Make him get off his fat, lazy a$$ for once.
One of the few worthwhile things that he's done.
Great job! We have to keep the pressure on these pols.
No doubt.
And as you mentioned with Philthy and Pittsburgh, laws don’t seem to matter much with the police these days.
Just received an NRA-ILA alert this evening. The discharge petition vote was postponed until tomorrow pending the vote in the Senate on HB1926. Senator Alloway has added language in this bill that is similar to HB40. I’m guessing if the Senate votes on this HB1926 and passes it, they will not vote on HB40 and instead take up this Senate bill to get it passed that way. Stay tuned...
