Education Discussion: Obama-Lauer Never Say V-Word

No, not that v-word. V . . . as in vouchers.

They might as well have been a couple of Soviet apparatchiks in 1955 discussing implementing better production procedures in diesel-engine factories. You can talk all day about “best practices, “what works,” blah, blah, blah. But there’s only one thing that has or will ever worked to improve the quality of any product, from football teams to cars to education: competition.

The only way to introduce real competition into education is via vouchers: giving parents and children real choice and making all schools—from government ones to parochial to private—compete on a level playing field.

But bizarrely, the concept of vouchers, let alone the word itself, never crossed the lips of either Pres. Obama or Matt Lauer during their half-hour discussion of education on this morning’s Today/Morning Joe simulcast as part of the networks’ two-day Education Nation summit.

I avoided that miserable show like the plague. I cannot stand NBC’s effort to boost this pathetic excuse for an occupant of the Oval Office.

He sucks, NBC sucks, and the cult that perpetuates the myth he is competent sucks.

And didn’t I see an article where Imam Obamah was talking about the DC Skewls and how they are not up to his daughter’s elite private school standards?

I would have watched it only if they had included John Taylor Gatto for some balanced perspective.

They can't say the “V” word.

They are indebted to the unions!

They will throw as much money as they can at PUBLIC SCHOOLS. It has not worked but that doesn't matter. Our debt will grow and that suits them just fine.

If we had vouchers, people would FLEE public schools. They KNOW that. Plus how could they control the indoctrination that they need to keep kids DUMB and LIBERAL? Vouchers would totally screw up their perverted agenda! Kids might KNOW something.

It's best to keep them IGNORANT and dumbed down and focused on FEELINGS, teach them to embrace socialism, reject capitalism and have the environment be their god as well as desensitize them to perversion and abortion.

Most importantly GOD must be out of their life. All these LEFTIST solutions don't include Him and make what is immoral permissible. I'd be Obama was stammering as he struggled to avoid VOUCHERS. Obama wants control of education and sees that happening with his "Race to the Top Program". All this program does is usurp STATE'S RIGHTS in setting the curriculum agenda. To believe otherwise is naive and STUPID. It's a back door approach to having your local school standards set by the federal government. Make NO MISTAKE about that.

I distinctly remember reading or seeing him say that education should be transparent from state to state. Because of LOCAL input this doesn't happen. Obama would like to eliminate that so that if you live in Oregon and move to Pennsylvania, your child will have the same curriculum to continue with in a public school. Some states do better than others in education. This would only serve to DUMB the better ones DOWN and not allow LOCAL direction to have ANY PLACE in a puclic school curriculum. If you believe their standards will LIFT EDUCATION, then you are NOT fmailiar with the "new" standards being imposed by "Race to the Top". We looked at them and were horrified. They level kids DOWN.

It's tough enough today to get rid of crappy courses. Take for example Bridgewater Middle School, it took them TEN YEARS to dump Everyday Math. The parents kept at it and at it and at it and they finally won. Now they have a decent Math program again. It takes tenacity. Now, try and do THAT when other states are enduring the SAME CRAPPY Math program. You can't. The situation I call your attention to, took a long time but the PARENTS FORCED them to change it and finally won.

Theres a reason for that. He said today that teachers are the most important part of school success. Of course we know thats code for teachers unions.

We caon’t dooo that…it would work; against ma’ plan’d stimulus and interfere with secured government employment.

Having people compete based on content and ability, would create too much disparate impact upon my followers and reduce employment within the education field.
