Higher health care bills ahead (Obamacare at work)

Workers can expect to pay hundreds of dollars more for their health care coverage next year.

In 2011, the combined average of premium and out-of-pocket costs for health care coverage for an employee is projected to climb to $4,386, according to an annual study by Hewitt Associates to be released this week. That's a 12.4 percent increase, or $486, over this year.

Companies, meanwhile, will see their health insurance costs go up nearly 9 percent, to an annual tab of $9,821 per employee, or double the employer's annual worker tab from nine years ago, according to Lincolnshire-based Hewitt.

But,but... everybody knows that it's much, much less than it could have been w/o Obama! Lots and lots of monies saved! It's like not using a taxi to go to work. Saves a lot, you can buy a house after a couple of years...

I’ve gone to the same pharmacy for seven years, and today I had an interesting talk with the of the pharmacy techs.

He says something is up with OTC pharmaceuticals. Standard painkillers and drugs like ibuprofen, Claritin, etc., are in short supply. Stuff that should be common isn’t getting into the stores and when they do it’s often late or there isn’t an entire order.

I wonder if this has to do with OTC medications no longer being payable with MSA account money? Is this just an isolate incident or is there something else happening we’re unaware of as of yet?

From the article, “Overall health care costs continue to rise 6 percent to 8 percent annually, primarily because advances in medical technology and the increasing use of medical services by an aging population.
...
Health care reform has added to the cost burden, but that is only an additional percent or two”

Like the article says, the main contributor is the aging population, which has doubled the cost of health-care in the last 10 years.

The main contributor has been the federal government, which before Obamacare controlled 50% of all the health care dollars thru Medicare and Medicaid.

I guarantee it’s a lot more than the additional “percent or two”. When you add 30 million ghetto slugs to the roles someone has to pay.

We buy and pay for our own health insurance - 100% out of our pockets with after-tax money .

Right after Obama-Kare passed we got a notice explaining that a premium increase was necessary due to new regulations resulting in increased costs. When we got our next monthly invoice our monthly premiums went up almost exactly 25%.

Now we have received another notice that there will be another premium increase releated to the costs of new regulations. We are waiting to find out how much it will jump this time.

Someone has to pay for the massive bureaucracy and all of the free services that will be provided to moochers, illegals and other democrat constituencies. Anyone who bought into the Obama lies that this program was to make health care “affordable” has his/her head up their nether regions or are so stupid as to be dangerous.

The 4 big insurers in California are raising rates an average of 19% on the next cycle. 19%! Is this because of Obamacare mandates?

I have said several times so forgive me if I sound like a broken record to some, the Democrats were so stupid to pass Obamacare the way they did. Almost nobody sees any benefit for the next 2 election cycles if at all. And what do we all see? Double-digit rate hikes, and higher unemployment, and a tough economy everywhere.

Democrats have nothing to campaign on. They pushed Obamacare off for 2 election cycles. By the time it actually kicks in, assuming it will help anyone, the Democrats will have been voted out of office.

Listen everyone.

The dem strategy is that once they are out of power and everything’s really in the deep kimchee,

they will have their remaining ‘underdog’ dems scream about how frickin awful everything is under the Republicans now. Just look at what they’re doing, companies did their reactionary rate increases because of fear of what Repubs were going to do (repeal obamacare). The MSM will go right along with this as they will parrot and support the dems saying this.

They believe they will be able to be swept right back in. Vote dems to sweep repubs out. You thought it was bad under dems, now, things are infinitely worse under repubs. Can’t wait, must vote them out in 2012 and re-elect Barry so he can finish his important work.

You are saying their strategy is to lose and hope things get worse so that they can be voted back in?

I’m saying it’s their only hope.

I am not saying they want to lose this time. They know they are going to lose big for what they’ve done the last 4 years and especially the last 2 years. Their own polls show it.

They’ve been casting Republicans all this time as the ones who’ve failed to get things done, making them be the scapegoats when they don’t have any ability to stop the dems.

Now that things are going to get screwed up even worse the next two years, the dems will be out of power and blaming the Repubs (who will now be in charge) of screwing things up these next two years, while what they will really be doing is trying to clean up the last two years of Pelosi, Reid and Obama.

They have been blaming Repubs all along while they were out of power. Once they get the power back since they will ‘be in charge’ the attacks will greatly increase “Repubs Fault!”. MSM will be more than happy to go along with that.

That’s what I’m saying.

Whether people buy it, the core democrats will. Will the independents be convinced? The democrats are hoping they will. With the MSM hitting them with the democrat spin of things, 24/7, don’t know. Things are going to get a lot worse the next two years, and it may be easy to convince some people that the Repubs are making it worse/to blame for things getting worse.

Just one thing. Most people have NO CLUE that Pelosi and Reid have been running Congress since January 2007. It's all Bush's fault, remember?

Exactly. My point right there. Blaming Repubs all along, when they are in the minority or even when they are out of office and running nothing.
