Environmental activist Wendy Van Asselt was at the World Resources Institute in 2003 when officials from the Wilderness Society made her an offer she couldn’t refuse.

They wanted her to lead a huge project to remove 26 million acres of federal land in the National Landscape Conservation System (NLCS) from oil and gas production, grazing, timber harvesting, mining for strategic minerals, off-road recreation, and providing rural jobs.

To do what with it? No mining, no tree-chopping, no gas production, heck, not even off-road recreation is allowed. What exactly is going to be done with it????

Absolutely nothing. It will get overgrown with brush and will be roadless and a few years from now it will burn and cost millions to control. A few masochistic hikers might hike on it and maybe a horseback rider or two but basically it will sit there doing nothing. There will be no taxes paid on because there will be no taxable activities on it so the gooberment will send “payment in lieu of taxes” to the counties and we will all pay for it.

As an illegal alien criminal, my vote is to grow pot on it, and maybe run a few meth labs too.
