The History Channel’s ‘Crumbling of America’ documentary is worth watching.
It describes the age, deterioration and need for comprehensive repair/maintenance/replacement of levees, highways, bridges, sewage & water systems. It is sobering to realize when these systems were built (50-100 years earlier), the materials used (rusting and rotting) and how much of our underground utilities are compromised.
The debate is between liberals who complain about ‘paying for wars instead of domestic needs’ and conservatives who complain about ‘subsidizing public transportation/amenities’.
