It is because they have not matured far enough past infantile narcissism. As one matures (assuming they ARE maturing), they become better at thinking about the feelings of others before they do things.

It is why most mailboxes are bashed by baseball bats swung by people under the age of 22. And this “prank” is actually a similar thing. I’ll bet the perps even feel really bad about it and, if they had it to do over again they would not. But you cannot just continue to excuse this sort of thing.

Yes, they should throw the books at those scum. Nobody should be able to post on the Internet items about somebody (who is not a public figure) without their permission. It is frightening how little privacy we have.
