The post was not about his sin - it's about others filming and broadcasting it.

Some think it's fair game, do you?

Molly Wei of Rutgers, the co-conspirator:

She looks like such a sweet young thing.

Her parents must be so proud.

This is so very sad. A young man, probably not out to his family, engaging in a furtive encounter with another man, is FILMED and watched live? The poor guy and now his poor family!!

I hope those two DO get some kind of punishment that stings.

Even a guy with a girl — that would be horrible too. And a straight guy might be moved to do something rash if the girl were, say, married, or a professor, or something. It’s just wrong.

Hypocrisy comes in if an alcoholic tells others not to drink to excess while loaded. Or a thief telling others not to steal while picking their pocket.

You really don't understand the verse, apparently. When Jesus says, "Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her," he not accusing the Pharisees of adultery.

He was talking about sin in general: there are none of us who are clean. None of us is qualified to condemn another for his sin. The older (and therefore wiser) ones understood His point immediately.

Jesus warned us elsewhere about judging others (see, e.g. Luke 6).

As for the kid who died, sure he was a sinner. He was a sad, confused, and broken sinner. The question is, how should a Christian respond to such a person? What should be our response to his death?

There are quite a few on this thread who have been very quick to prescribe the "proper" punishment for this kid's sin. What qualifies them to cast the first stone? Nothing. They -- we -- have all got logs in our eyes.

I know when I’m communicating with others, and there is something unclear, I am happy to clarify, so others understand my meaning.

Apparently you have a different attitude.

With the years, life becomes more personal, more precious and those past events and memories are sharper, and more stinging than when they occurred.

You sure got that right.....

What are you babbling about?

The consequence to homosexuality that has been specifically alluded to was a sense of shame and embarassment so great that a young man took his own life.

Have you actually paid attention to what people on this thread actually posted, rather than the emotions they evoke for you?

The young man is dead by his own hand. His room mate broadcast his indiscrete behavior, but nobody threw him off of that bridge.

My whole point was it was an invasion of privacy and he asked the roomate for privacy. Also it was an incredibly mean thing to do.

Maybe his actions were wrong and I do not support his lifestyle but he probably just turned 18. I hope these two get what they really deserve. Sad.

OK, if you had an 18-yr-old son, do you think there could be ANYTHING he might do in a room alone that he would be mortified if the world was watching???????

It doesn’t matter WHAT his orientation. Imagine a guy, um, pleasuring himself. Do you really think your son would like to be That Guy, on the internet????? Thinking of his mom and grandma and ex girlfriend seeing that, he might just jump off a bridge.

Leave your homophobia at the door, please, and feel sympathy for those who loved this young man. We needed him here on this earth. Humiliation drives people to try and “erase” themselves. He chose a permanent way. We are all at a loss.

Sickened by those who believe this boy was right.

Hello. This was an 18-year-old boy. 18-year-old boys do wrong things sometimes. They are away from home for the first time. We are supposed to PROTECT our young people and guide them.

If you don't like homosexuality, you still should not hate young people who feel they might be that way.

Other young people make other mistakes. It doesn't matter what they are. Shaming someone for laughs makes it very hard for the young victim to even see that life can go on.

What are you babbling about? It doesn’t seem to bear any comprehension of what I posted. Which provides more confirmation of a mind that is seriously sick.

The more I visit FR recently, the happier I am I am not a Christian. Aren’t Christians supposed to hate the sin, but love the sinner? How about some charitable feelings for his parents and family? I bet some of the most hateful things said here are being said by people who go to church and call themselves Christian. Well, if you want to be happy or feel self-righteous over some college kid’s suicide, have at it. We know what this kid was, but now we know what you are, too.

Dittoes.

If he HAD done it with a girl... If he was a normal guy... Chances are he’d still be alive today. Not dead from his own shame and guilt.

Because the normal sin of sex outside marriage carries no shame or guilt. /s LOL

Love that pick and choose morality.

Bears repeating!

You are correct..I was just reading an article about the Swiss being so alarmed at their super high rates of suicide amongst men, young and older, who are bisexual and homosexual, that they are instituting programs in their schools, starting in kindergarten with book “The Prince that had Two Daddies”, irrc.

This is the focus, not on the deadly act of anal sex that liberals encourage and celebrate to our young children, but on those around these kids who do not want it taught as normal behavior.

Liberals literally “love” people to death don't they?

instead of the ones that committed the crime that caused him to take his life.

There are no "Ones that committed the crime that caused him to take his life"

He simply chose to.

If having fims of oneself posted on YouTube caused people to jump off of bridges, I would be dead, along with all the other people at one of my old family reunions. Ergot, it wasn't that his room mate put it up. Rather, it was his actions coming to the light of day, and how he felt about that.

I am not going to join your lynch mob.

We are defending the idea that a young man has taken his life and there are plenty on here who think he should be attacked instead of the ones that committed the crime that caused him to take his life.

No one has attacked him. It has been pointed out that his lifestyle choices are harmful. Shame and embarrassment led to his suicide. That isn't an attack, it's truth.

I have not seen anyone defend the young people that taped him.

The things that have been said on here are DISGUSTING and grossly lacking in compassion.

The truth is the truth. Sometimes the truth is painful. But ignoring the truth is worse. This young man had probably heard that "It's ok to be "gay". It's not. Even he didn't think so. Society is destroying our youth with lies. Do you expect people to be silent about that?

Look. This thread has been up for hours. I’ve seen you on it. So I assume you know the details. So please:

Name me ONE THING this young man did that was defensible.

Start with the devient homosexual actions in the dorm room. End with his jumping off the GW bridge. Or anything esle you can think of.

I’ll wait.

You are saying words that appear to mean one thing, but implying another.

Three wrongs were done.

1. The homosexual acts.

2. Taping and putting on the internet said sex acts.

3. The suicide.

If colleges weren’t considered places to have illicit sex, and if homosexual acts were not glorified, none of the above would have happened.
