Although it hasn’t happened in a couple of centuries, French people can and will fight if provoked seriously enough. And it won’t be pretty.....................
I am starting to thing the Europeans will do a lot more than the idiots brainwashed by Saudi TV here (NBC,CNN,FOX,Bloomberg,ABC/Disney,CBS,et al - support Islam and Obama & have Saudi shareholders).

It was the left, of course, but the underlying reason was that during WWI, they lost around 25% of their young men, and something like 40 million women couldn’t find husbands during the following decade. That type of demographic destruction would make most societies be a little gun shy when the opportunity came around again.
That being said, though, any group that has been backed into a corner, or realizes they are nearly backed into a corner, will turn and fight. The Tea Party is an outgrowth of this. We may see other, up until now “civilized” groups becoming distinctly “uncivil” when they are cornered.
I don’t know if and when the French will really fight back, but if they do, I predict that it will be much more explosive than what you would see with the English. One observation I can share about the French, they are not as inhibited by concerns about political correctness and accusations of racism as most whites in the English-speaking world tend to be. The thing about this report that surprises me is that it indicates that the problem was with a gang of blacks. When I was in France (in the 1980s), the whites in France seemed to have very few problems with the African blacks living there, and African blacks that I met seemed to like the French people fairly well, even though they seemed resigned to the idea that they would never be fully accepted as being French. The antagonism I observed was always between the French and the arabs (mainly Algerians).
I read earlier today they occupied the Ruhr after Germany defaulted on some WWI reparations. They were certainly ready to fight when WWII began -- there's a reason Germany went around and not through the Maginot Line.
