You’d think there’d be a stash of ties somewhere to rectify the situation. You know, like a stuffy restaurant.
Hard to believe the only solution WH staff could come up with was to recind the invitation.
Were a different administration in power, IMHO, this would have just been taken care of quietly. Either a protocol officer would have contacted the family in advance ("formal dress is required, we recommend such-and-such") *or* someone would have quietly taken the family aside on entrance and resolved the issue.
But, since the current admin is made up of zero-tolerance, zero-commonsense idiots, we get this situation. Wonder if Hannity / Beck / Rush will mention it?
