I may be just a hapless n00b in contrast to that individual with a much earlier born on date, but as far as Mexico is concerned, it is what it is. And I stand by my opinion.
I personally like Mexicans. I even married a Mexican. But the problem is that you have a culture where truth is not considered that big a deal. Take that with the fact that many government officials were so poorly paid that they had to be on the take to feed their families, and the fact that the country’s middle class is razor thin, and you’ve got a country ripe for whole scale corruption.
This is, at best, an oversimplification. I hope they make it out of their current situation, but the country itself will need to change.
