Brenna Findley, candidate for Iowa Attorney General, will have some powerful backup as she shares her vision for how to get Iowa back on track. Ken Cuccinelli, Virginia's Attorney General, will be campaigning in Iowa on Monday, October 4, to elect fellow Republican Brenna Findley. AG Cuccinelli became nationally known when he was the first Attorney General to file suit against the unconstitutional mandate by Congress that would force Americans to buy government approved health insurance or face IRS penalty.
Other states have also filed suit and, Cuccinelli continues to lead the way in the fight to protect the rights of individuals from federal control beyond constitutional limits.Said Brenna Findley, "Ken Cuccinelli is fighting for Virginians and I will fight to protect Iowans from this unconstitutional power grab by Congress. Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (R) will next week head to Alabama and, more interestingly, to Iowa to campaign with Republican candidates for attorney general.
The outspoken Virginia conservative, who is suing the Obama administration over the federal health-care law and EPA greenhouse gas regulations, has been in increasing demand nationally from Republican candidates and organizations.
His political action committee will announce Monday that he’ll campaign for Republican Brenna Findley in Iowa on Oct. 4 and Republican Luther Strange in Alabama on Oct. 5. Neither trip involves taxpayer money.
The trip to Iowa is sure to raise eyebrows in a state where the big debate so far has been whether Cuccinelli’s ambitions include a run for governor or the U.S. Senate. After all, visits to Iowa and New Hampshire, which hold the nation’s first presidential nominating contests, have long been the universal mark of politicians with presidential ambitions.
Cuccinelli political director Noah Wall said the trip is simply about electing attorneys general who agree with Cuccinelli’s constitutional philosophy. “We are not going to Iowa for any reason other than to campaign for Brenna Findley,” he said.
