Obama Touts Clean Energy in Weekly Speech (More Obama lies!)
wall street journal ^ | 10/2/2010 | MAYA JACKSON RANDALL

Posted on 10/02/2010 6:24:09 AM PDT by tobyhill

U.S. President Barack Obama on Saturday touted his administration's energy policy agenda, predicting that his clean energy programs will create "hundreds of thousands" of new American jobs by 2012.

Meanwhile, he painted an ugly, contrasting picture of the GOP energy agenda, arguing that Republicans would only boost the nation's dependence on foreign oil and keep special interest groups in control.

"We can go back to the failed energy policies that profited the oil companies but weakened our country," the president said in his weekly radio address, proving that he's not done attacking the GOP this midterm election season. "Or we can go after new jobs in growing industries."

Mr. Obama said special interest groups have blocked efforts to cut back on foreign oil, effectively holding families hostage to gas price spikes and sending manufacturing jobs overseas.

This from a guy who twice imposed a ban on offshore drilling - in defiance of a judge's order not to - and who has put millions of acres out west off-limits to drilling.

The lies that come from the mouths of Democrats get more and more brazen with each passing year.

one green job = deadend.

just ask Spain, where green jobs is destroying the country.

meanwhile, all those offshore, good paying jobs are idle.

Obama, the destroyer of wealth.

Mean while he gave $1 Billion to Mexico to drill in the Gulf. We need to ask the GOP what they will do with the Gulf and we need answers.

The only way we will get clean energy in this country is to send Obama and his goons to another planet..

Talked to my neighbor the other day, on energy. He is a recently retired construction foreman for an electrical coop.

A few things, Wind farms will die when the subsidy ends.

Very few if any power producers, are building transmission lines.

The cost to build new exceeds what power companies are now spending just maintaining what they have in place.

Wind farms basically are suffering from lack of transmission lines to send the power where it needs to go.

Wind power equipment is continually being improved, however, wind itself will never improve, it’s thirty percent basic efficiency as an energy source.

Same with solar, no sun at night and very little in bad weather. So just what is the President talking about, and just who does he think he is talking to?

Many coal fired plants are in the 90 percent efficient range by comparison, but the doofus wants to shut them down.

The President is full of manure, and should shut up. his numbers would spike high if he could keep his mouth shut.
To bad he can’t.

I would be reluctant to spread his brand of manure onto foreign soil. Bad for our image. and since HE is so concerned with our image, taking care of the problem right here would IMHO be preferable, and cheaper. Think jobs not rocket fuel. Think of the life support systems they would have to have, at our expense.

That brings to mind what the Manure Spreader wants to do here, charge for life support. So lets keep him here and he can pay for his carbon credits instead of launching him into deep space.

While he is whiling away his time he can sit on a bike attached to a generator, or alternator, and produce something worthwhile.

When an oil and or gas company makes a profit, it provides millions of people with energy.

So other sources are going to be "non-profit"?????

The only true clean efficient source of energy is nuclear....or combination with some new technology such as what powers the sun...

EVerything else is there under the ground or seas for us to use....

The wind turbines in Central Illinois are not only an eye sore, don’t think they produce more energy in one year, that a train load of coal produces in one day...

AGain politicians....dumb@ss politicians....

Another faggy hysterical lie from the libs. Our energy is very clean. Their objective— They want to make it very expensive for the peasants

Clean means ultra expensive energy you pay tribute to the king for. Wall Street makes billions trading mythical carbon credits

We can go back to the failed energy policies

I am sick and tired of hearing this said as if it is fact, IT IS NOT.....

.....Our energy policy before the RATS ruined it was explore, drill, refine, dam, mine, build, burn, and cause fission.

We built this country on the hydro, fossil, and nuclear power policy and it works.

Obama and the radical left will have you think that "free and clean" solar and wind will replace the generation we already have and handle future growth. Nothing could be further from the truth. It's pixie dust and fantasy.

If "free solar and wind" were the answer, the power and auto companies would have done it themselves years ago. There is money to be made selling something obtained for free, and they would have done it already.

What has ruined the energy policy is enviro-whackos placing domestic coal and oil off limits, preventing new refineries and power plants from being built with endless regulation and litigation, and ratcheting up regulations to shut down or de-rate existing facilities. Until we put a stop to this, our energy policy will remain crippled. Pixie dust doesn't work.

He highlighted a company called BrightSource Energy, which is building a solar power plant in the Mojave Desert that could employ as many as 1,000 people. BrightSource is backed by VantagePoint Venture Partners; Morgan Stanley; and units of BP PLC, Chevron Corp., Statoil ASA, Google Inc., Alstom SA, Cargill Inc. and other companies.

RFKjr, sucking more from the taxpayer for personal gain. (Ad)VantagePoint -- Interesting name. Is that kind of synonymous for being well connected and receiving government handouts from your buddies in Congress, after building a business that would is totally non-viable if not for the global warming hoax? Feinstein hands over government land. Obama dishes out cash. And then they have the gall to call themselves "capitalists."
