SUN PRAIRIE, Wis. -- A 9-year-old boy was rescued on Saturday morning after climbing into a claw-crane vending machine at a Wal-Mart in Sun Prairie.
Firefighters said that somehow the boy crawled through the 1-foot-by-1-foot opening on the front of the machine and was sitting with the stuffed animals inside. The lock was cut and the boy was removed a few minutes after help arrived.
Officials said that boy wasn't injured and suffered only a small scratch on his nose.
After the entire ordeal, the boy went home with two stuffed animals from the machine.
The child's mother said that she wasn't at the machine when the boy went in, WISC-TV reported.
I am told it is not all that easy to sue Walmart.
When my son was small, he visited the claw machine near the check stand where I was in line at the grocery store. I heard an announcement on the PA system looking for his parent. Uh-oh.
He had apparently put his saved-up coin in the machine, and nothing happened. So he stuck his arm up inside the hole. And it was stuck. When the firemen came in carrying axes, it scared him silly, as he figured they were going to chop off his arm. It cured him of any further episodes with rip off machines.
And are there any worse looking prizes tha those inside claw machines? He did get his money back, as it popped out of the machine during the rescue.
I actually agree with a lot of what you’ve said except this: you don’t leave your child alone in a public place like Wal-Mart at the age of nine to see what they will do on their own. I guarantee they will behave childishly, you know, like a nine year old. Also, you don’t do it because there are too many perverts hanging out in public places waiting to snatch a kid.
By the way, I have an adult child, a teen and a ten year old. So its not like I don’t have a clue about what I’m talking about. And so far, no narcissists or rebelers at my house. And I pray to God it stays that way.
Well, better make sure you keep an eye on them at all times!
Especially the adult child.

Unless there is a problem with his mental capacity, that is just stupid. If it were my child, he wouldn’t have gone home with any animals, he would have gone home to a big spanking.
