You know a lot of those outside Mass are scratching their heads right now, and some of our Mass friends here are disappointed in us not supporting Baker / Tisei (at least I’m not) but yeah I prefer Romney to Baker, think he would make a great Sec of the Treasury.

I wish we could bring back Gov King (Ronnie’s fav Dem).

All you have to do is follow the Mass Board here - I’m not voting for the Baker / Tisei ticket for that very reason. I’ll be writing in Lively instead. You’re singing to the choir here.

That said I’m not going to war with fellow Mass FRs who are voting for Baker because I understand they feel it’s Baker vs Patrick, hopefully we’ll have an actual choice next time around as people wake up - and imo they are. You’re so very right about the MassGOP.

My main goal is for folks to look at issues with ALL the facts on the table and it’s not helpful nor truthful when other folks in this thread claim Howie Carr as being in the liberal camp. That’s just silly & from my point of view deceitful.

The problem I have with Howie is his playing cheerleader for Baker and over-the-top bashing of Cahill (whom I endorsed, if only because he is the most Conservative of the 3 major candidates running and won’t ruin the GOP from the inside like the 4 prior RINO Governors have). Baker is a liberal, and were he a Democrat, I think Howie would be ripping him to shreds, but only because he’s wearing an “R” that Howie is giving him a pass (and odd, since Howie wasn’t exactly a big cheerleader for Kerry Healey, who got royally screwed over by Slick Willard after he insisted on foisting her on the Lt Gov slot over the infinitely more qualified Jim Rappaport). Just a very poor show on Howie’s part, and it’s one reason why I (and Dio) are registering extreme disappointment with him. Even if Baker wins, it’s a pyrhhic victory, and I believe will ultimately leave the party (and Conservatism) in even more dire straits than Slick Willard left it (as if there is much room to leave it worse off).

Problems posting today, sorry FM about the slow responses. I was heading down the Cahill trail but I have to concede he is too far into the Dem camp to be taken serious, that’s not from anything Howie has said, just how the election has gone. I wish Cahill came out a little stronger - just not convinced. So I’m leaning toward writing in Lively (the other choice being blank).

I agree about “Muffy”, not sure about Rappaport.

After listening to Howie for 20 years or so, he just says it as he sees it, mostly I agree and sometimes I don’t.

But he’s no puppet for the Globe or the Dems - no way. Turn in for Finneran if you want that.

The main thing is to elect conservatives at the town & district level, until then it really doesn’t matter who the govenor is imo.

I don’t think Howie agrees with Baker at all on the social issues, just that he’s better for taxpayers than Deval. You know, “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.”

I agree Andy’s Mom - I think Baker is a lot like Weld - who imho is more responsible for same sex marriage in Mass than Romney ever was, in fact he’s worse with Tisei as his running mate.

I do think it is funny that Howie is letting Baker slide with that pick. Maybe he feels quilty about Muffy?

Howie has been way too kind to too many RINOS and for many years. He, also, has Col. Hunt on his show way too much. Col. Hunt’s voice is annoying, even if the legitimate reason for this is from being injured. I appreciate Col. Hunt’s service, but his voice is, still, very annoying. Also, why is Col. Hunt the “Official VP of the Howie Carr Show”, after Col. Hunt voted for Barack Obama, on November ‘08? Col. Hunt is no conservative.

LOL, he SHOULD feel guilty about Muffy. Baker is just like Weld, minus the personality.

I switch stations when Col. Hunt comes on.

A BUMP in the road for Suzanne...you can’t claim multiple tax breaks. Auditing the auditor candidate

http://www.boston.com/news/politics/articles/2010/10/07/auditor_candidate_claimed_two_property_tax_exemptions/?p1=News_links

>>In an interview Monday, Bump insisted that she is legally entitled to both tax breaks.

“There is nothing wrong with what I am doing,’’ said Bump, a lawyer, who, if elected auditor next month, would be responsible for ensuring that taxpayer money is used appropriately. “I am completely within the law, both the letter and the spirit of the law,’’ she said.

On Tuesday, however, the state Department of Revenue said that no taxpayer can claim residential status in more than one community in order to receive multiple tax breaks.

Of course she can claim two primary residences - how else can she vote twice?

Agreed on Col. Hunt. They can’t find other people—I know not everyone likes Avi but I do... (Would hate to think this would happen but given cutbacks at Fox25 you wonder if VB
may somehow be next; would free him up for Howie, though he has seemed to do fill ins for WTKK instead).

Nothing against Jodi A. but I voted for Officer Mark. Col.
Hunt’s voting for Obama reminded me of a character Phil Hendrie plays on the Phil Hendrie show—some kind of military
colonel or something who is actually quite liberal

Together we can. We will get Baker or we will get Deval.
And let that tax rollback fail and they will really feel
they have carte blanche to tax us back to the stone age.
Then again, run a true conservative either as a Republican
or independent and see how we’ll do. Try it against Brown
in ‘12—it’ll be fun seeing Vicky Kennedy as our next
Senator.

As long as you have no minimal standards for what passes for a Republican, don’t be surprised at the disaster they wreak. 16 years didn’t teach you a thing.

Massachusetts will get whom the PEOPLE want.

Captain Howie Carr can bed with any Romney poodle he wants,
but the PEOPLE are getting sick and tired of him and WRKO's
endless rants for the RINO RomneyBOT who WANTS RomneyCARE.

The Messiah will come someday. Because I have been to the mountaintop. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!

Yes someday...someday...there will be true conservatives in office in Massachusetts. In the meantime I ask you to vote for our man...
FOUR MORE YEARS!
FOUR MORE YEARS!

I’m not only talking about whenever Col. Hunt is subbing for Howie, I’m also talking about the total number of times that Col. Hunt calls into Howie’s show, whether Howie is the host or not, and then, says a lot of things that I’m not in complete agreement with him on. It’s time to turn off the radio, every time this happens.

If you are a Masshole declare it on your FReeRepublic home page. I lived there for most of my life and you my dear FRiend haven't got a clue of how Mass operates. Howie has been a voice crying in the wilderness for years.
