My old Triumph Spitifre had fires almost daily ... I never got a recall on it. I’d just blow out the fire and keep going. LOL!

It’s the only way those things have heat at all.

I can only imagine the fire that this kind of power must cause. They worry of hydrogen cars and their fire probably (It’s actually very low, and the fire isn’t too scary).

A gasoline engine on fire is a violent thing. Can you imagine the fireworks show that “A fire behind the headlight” might cause ?

Not good. When a car runs on smoke and mirrors, you had better not let the smoke escape.

If they were really *Tesla* vehicles, you wouldn’t need to plug them in.

I don’t know what is more sad... that 1/3 of all Tesla cars were recalled or that the recall amounts to just 439 cars.

Smoke and “possible fire”

What the hell does this mean? Smoke only comes out from something when it's BURNING, this is the definition of a fire. Do these leftists think their need to be flames going fifty feet into the air before it's a fire?

I thought they got a hand out:

June 2009 Tesla was approved to receive US$465 million in interest-bearing loans from the United States Department of Energy. The funding, part of an US$8 billion program for advanced vehicle technologies (Advanced Technology Vehicles Manufacturing Loan Program), supports engineering and production of the Model S sedan, as well as the development of powertrain technology that Tesla plans to sell to other automakers.[39] The low-interest loans are not related to the "bailout" funds that GM and Chrysler have received, nor are they related to the 2009 economic stimulus package. The Department of Energy loan program was created in 2007 during the George Bush administration in order to get more fuel-efficient vehicle options to U.S. consumers and to decrease the country's dependence on foreign oil.[40]

I’ll bet the handout was to fund the recall.

I will not go into details, but ... I had a conversation with a couple of their “engineers” about equipment they were looking for in the manufacturing process ... and they were so clueless about what they were doing it was unbelievable ... and this was just about 18 months ago ... it was like a conversation I might have had with someone if I was trying to build a space shuttle ... that is how over their heads they were. I’m surprised they got ANYTHING onto the market.

Ah, those were the days - when men where men, women where women and a little fire in one’s sports car could be taken in stride without the need for any silly recalls.
