One insidious force keeping unemployment high is regulatory uncertainty: Companies that could hire (or re-hire), don't -- because they're worried about what new restrictions will be coming down from Washington.
Congress bears much of the blame -- especially for the new "financial reform" law, which leaves so many details to be filled in later. But a major contributor to businesses' worries is the Obama Environmental Protection Agency, which is issuing a daily barrage of rules and regulations threatening jobs in American industry.
So concludes "EPA's Anti-Industrial Policy: Threatening Jobs and America's Manufacturing Base" -- a new report from the minority staff of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works (on which I serve as ranking member).
The report focuses on four of the EPA's most egregiously anti-business proposals and explains how they threaten American jobs and global competitiveness.
One example: the EPA's proposed rules for industrial boilers -- which the consulting firm IHS-Global Insight found could cost 800,000 jobs.
The United Steel Workers union says the proposal "will be sufficient to imperil the operating status of many industrial plants . . . Tens of thousands of these jobs will be imperiled . . . many more tens of thousands of jobs in the supply chains and in the communities where these plants are located also will be at risk."
Communities should also be bracing for new regulatory burdens from EPA's pending ozone decision. The Obama EPA is now expected to demand, in some areas, ozone levels lower than what occur naturally in the ambient air.

From the article: “The EPA adds insult to injury with its endangerment finding for greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act... the finding may ‘force’ the EPA to regulate... 37,000 churches...”
Regulating CHURCHES under the Clean Air Act??? What emissions do churches put out? The preacher full of hot air? Someone in the pews passing gas? The Wednesday night bean supper?
Candles?
EPA = Export Personnel to Asia
correct
All of this is intentional and clearly laid out in dineshs’ new book.
“Fact of the matter is that communist bureaucrats in DC are at war with We the People.”
Fact of the matter is that they won the war and the People now suffer under the watchful eye of the Army of Occupation.
This situation can’t last all that long - unfortunately, the coming changes may not be positive.
At the state fair of Texas I heard the following from out of state vendors, “People all over the country are scared and they are not spending.” This in an event with hundreds of thousands of peopel each weekend, a city that has had constant growth in real estate sales and good corporate business - like AT&T, Exxon, Verizon etc. etc. - People are scared and they are going to take it out on someone - let the world know they are unhappy. /a mini rant
This is the truth. Anyone who thinks this has anything to do with even a misguided concern for the "environment" is nuts. It's all about destroying the US and redistributing our wealth to Obama's Third World.
I’ve always been a big fan of hanging everyone at the EPA for treason.
How to Hoard Incandescent Light Bulbs
Alas - the push is on! By 2014, incandescent bulbs will probably no longer be available in the United States. Incandescent bulbs use more watts than the newer, more expensive and more efficient compact flourescent and LED bulbs, and government regulations have put the lovely, warm light of our childhoods on the endangered species list. But dont despair, its easy to buy up incandescent bulbs, and build a stock of them that will last years.
Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
Things Youll Need:
* A resourceful attitude
* A little extra money to spend
* A cool, dry place to store light bulbs
1
Think about the areas of your home that benefit from the warmth and beauty of incandescent light. These areas are likely to be the bathroom, the bedroom, and the kitchen. Anywhere that needs to be romantic, sensual, or pleasing to the eye. These are the rooms you need to stock up incandescent 60-100 watt light bulbs for.
2
Stop into the discount stores and dollar stores in your area. These are great places to find inexpensive incandescent light bulbs. Buy them up. Though their manufacture is rapidly being sent offshore to cheaper labor markets, incandescent bulbs are still being made here. Some of what you spend will still go to American workers.
3
Check in at big box retail stores like Target, Walmart and Kmart. Incandescent bulbs can be found there as well.
4
Go online to your favorite search engine and type in 60-watt incandescent. Order them in bulk from a site you trust.
5
Once youve built a stash of these light bulbs, keep them in a safe place, and avoid moving them or jostling them, as their filaments are fragile. It costs very little to buy them.
6
Pay your higher electric bill with pleasure. At least with incandescent light, your skin tones wont be green or gray, and you wont get headaches from the strobing effect of flourescent light!
