Yes, it is sad. When I was in high school (that was nearly 20 years ago), this kid would have been sent to the counselor in an effort to determine why he chose to be a freak.
What kills me is how the Parents treat the kid's confusion as normal behavior. Everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame I guess.
