I agree. Half my grocery bill is drinks. Much of them sugary crap my husband and kids drink. If I had to cut corners, they’d go. (the drinks, that is, not the husband and kids). If you are collecting food stamps, that qualifies as hard times, IMO. They should have to make the same sacrifices I would have to make in the same situation.

Certainly “the poor” who are on food stamps should have their choices very limited.
They should not be eating convenience foods or “luxury” foods paid for by those eating rice, beans, and hamburger.

They are talking about any drink with sugar. That would include ice tea and some fruit juices.

ThAT is not up to the government to determine.

THAT is a personal choice on what is cut when times are tough.

It’s all about CONTROL.
