Huh?? They are getting disparate. Even the writer picks up on the fact that Richardson himself was the ultimate outsider.

The article quotes Christine Sierra, a professor of political science at the University of New Mexico, who said that the campaign ad tries to suggest that Martinez is a stereotypical rich Texan when in actuality her family is from El Paso and she has lived in Las Cruces since 1986 and been elected as DA several times. On the other hand, Denish is from a prominent Anglo SE NM family in a town only 5 miles from the Texas border and most personal commerce takes place in either Lubbock or Midland/Odessa Texas as those are the closest cities of any size.

As Sierra says, they are trying to portray Martinez as an outsider which is what "Tejana" means to New Mexicans.

My real question from this-how can a girl raised in the oil patch on the NM/TX border grow up to be a raving moon-bat socialist Dem??? My God.

Go New Mexico, GO MARTINEZ!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to mention, the “Tejana” part.

My understanding of a “Tejana” is someone of Spanish/Mexican descent with long-standing family roots within the state of Texas pre/post statehood.

I’ve been following this NM Gov race somewhat and the more I read of Martinez......THE MORE I LIKE HER!

If she wasn’t going to be next Governor of New Mexico I’d implore her to move and run against Perry in the next primary. He’s okay, but we need something better and she looks just the ticket.....
