OSLO, Norway Imprisoned Chinese dissident Liu Xiaobo won the 2010 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday for "his long and non-violent struggle for fundamental human rights" a prize likely to enrage the Chinese government, which had warned the Nobel committee not to honor him.
Thorbjoern Jagland, the Norwegian Nobel Committee chairman, said Liu Xiaobo (LEE-o SHAo-boh) was a symbol for the fight for human rights in China and the government should expect that its policies face scrutiny

After last year’s choice, I was beginning to wonder if the Nobel prize committee had any integrity left.
After last years choice even they knew they had to give it to someone who has actually done something.
He’s on house arrest in China?
Well, unlike the last peace prize winner, he has an excuse for not having the time to meet with the King of Norway.
He’s fighting for human rights, non violently. Gotta give him points for that. Maybe we can learn something from him. We already have these rights, but for some reason beyond my comprehension, the prez is working to take them away. :(
