Before 33 trapped Chilean miners can begin their passage to the outside world, still more people will join them down below to make their journey as smooth as it can be.

These men – an elite group of three paramedics with the Chilean navy's special forces and 13 rescue experts with the state-owned mining company Codelco – will work in shifts during the 48 hours it could take to evaluate the men and strap them into the escape capsule for their 15-20 minute ride to the surface.

simple. Whoever has the greatest medical need. Then you go by who is closest to the exit hole.

Leave the guy who’s wife and mistress showed up at his candlelight vigil until the last... Give everyone else a chance to clear out first!

The guy with both a wife and girlfriend waiting topside will probably volunteer to go last. ;-)

Worst injured first, then family men alphabetically, then single men alphabetically would be my decision.

I was thinking he might say “Send down a bunch of food and water; I’ll just stay.”

I would think a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors might work...

But then again, if it was me, and I was in that mine trapped like that...

I would volunteer to be last...That way the pressure is off, and the others could fight over the order of rescue...

That’s just how I roll...

>>>Then you go by who is closest to the exit hole.<<<

That scheme might cause bloodshed!!! Nutty. You've got to have a disciplined way to say who goes next....probably in groups by marital status and age.

I wasn’t under the impression that they are confined to a small area. One of the miners has been running 10km a day.
