Paper Spared Ted Kennedy For Jackie
N Y Post ^ | October 9, 2010

Teddy Kennedy quashed a National Enquirer story alleging Mary Jo Kopechne was pregnant with his child when she died by giving the weekly a fawning article about Jackie Kennedy Onassis and her kids, a new book claims.

In Paul Pope's "The Deeds of My Fathers," he claims his father, Generoso (Gene) Pope, who turned the Enquirer into the best-selling tabloid in America, spiked a story that reported Kopechne, the pretty young campaign worker, was pregnant in 1969 when she drowned in the Chappaquiddick River in Kennedy's car.

Pope writes that his father sent a reporter to DC in 1980 to buy the story from Washington Post gossip columnist Maxine Cheshire and a Women's Wear Daily reporter. The story detailing the alleged coverup included on-the-record sources, with every quote attributed.

"Once people read it, there'd be no way that Ted Kennedy could ever run for president, maybe not even for dog catcher in Massachusetts," Paul writes.

But the story never ran. According to Paul, his father bought it as a way to gain access to Kennedy in order to get one step closer to the person Gene considered the "Holy Grail of the Tabloid World" -- Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.

That wasn't the only dirt Gene supposedly had on Kennedy. Paul claims that an Enquirer reporter caught him in the Bahamas with a young party girl, not his wife. But instead of running the picture and story, Gene finagled an exclusive with the senator.

Gene spared Kennedy from further exposure in return for a sympathetic piece on his help raising Jackie's kids, his son writes......

The Senate is shamed by the fact that not a single Senator - NOT ONE - ever took to the floor in a debate or special comment, to attack that fat scumbag for what he did to that girl. Ted Kennedy was one of the most vile politicians to ever serve in our nation’s history.

>>>I, for one, seriously doubt that Mary Jo was pregnant with Ted’s baby, for all kind of reasons. If she was, Joe Kennedy Senior would have bought her off, or at least attempted to.

The ride abord the SS Oldsmobile happened before daddy could cut the check...

The Kennedy clan is built on lies. First, they got their wealth through insider trading after the great depression. Papa Kennedy became head of the SEC and outlawed the practice (only after he had exploited the hell out of it). Papa Kennedy bought himself the Ambassadorship to England to set his sons up for future politics. And yes, Papa Kennedy had more girlfriends while married than his kids did.

Then comes along JFK and the Cuban missile crisis. For years and years we were led to believe that we stared down the Russian bear and they blinked. The truth is we removed missiles from Europe that started the whole mess (we put missiles close to the Russian border, the Ruskies said move them, we said no, then the Ruskies put missiles in Cuba).

Later, they put their businesses in trusts so that they could be exempt from the very taxes that Ted Kennedy passed to soak you and me.

The reality is this, the media is liberal and JFK was good looking and they did everything possible to create a myth that turned the Kennedy’s into immortals. What the Kennedy’s are is nothing more than the biggest fraud in America. If you find one quote where they ask you to do something, guaranteed in private they do the opposite.

“..killed less people than Ted Kennedy’s oldsmobile.”

But that was not his father’s Oldsmobile.

Under Massachusetts law, a car leaving a bridge is prima facie evidence of driver negligence. Negligence resulting in the death of another is, by definition, manslaughter.

I agree with you. If his name had been anything other than Kennedy, he would have been charged.

That is a funny picture, but I drove a VW in the 60’s, I don't know how long it would float. I turned onto a flooded street by accident and when I saw what I had done I hit the brake and the clutch. There were then 2 holes in the floorboards and the water squirted in and soaked me.

Why didn’t he go straight to town and report the accident?

There's been speculation that Tedy was trippin'.

Murder would have been a drastic and unnecessary first step and not the Kennedys’ style. Their first recourse was flattery (its really, really cheap), bribery and then threats and then follow up.

Most of their threats would have been little more than using their enormous clout to ruin your career and reputation.

“Murder would have been a drastic and unnecessary first step and not the Kennedys’ style.”

So I can discard the nagging doubt as to whether or not the Kennedys were involved in Marilyn Monroe’s death?

Isn’t it possible that the MSM had its panties in a bunch when the Citizens United case was handed down because they felt that their power monopoly was threatened?

The bumper sticker goes: “My gun has killed fewer people than Ted Kennedy’s car.”

Well, even better then:

Killers and murderers who have shot and killed someone (but not more than 1) can claim the gun they used killed less than Ted Kennedy's car.
