Communists and other statists never come out from the get-go and tell you up front they are going to take away you rights – they do it incrementally and let normalcy bias lull people into a false sense of security.

Mots likely people in Germany in the 1920’s and 30’s didn’t think that the National Socialists were a threat to their freedoms, as well as other places where statists have taken over, but we all know how that turned out, and we are on the same road.

It’s beginning to look like this November may be Liberty’s last Chance – it’s last peaceful chance.

I certainly hope so. As Anne Coulter has said (more or less, i paraphrase wantonly here) when you're the underdog, you fight upward, and the calibre of your enemies is a mark of your ability to hit hard. From the perspective of a dissident, the worst treatment is to be ignored, and treated as nonexistent. Being put on the government's watchlist - this government's watchlist - is a sign that you are considered a threat to their fascist hegemony, and are taken seriously as a consequence.

Posting certain things anywhere on the net will get you on a list.

Back during the Clinton era several of my friends demanded their FBI file using the FOIA process. Three had nothing and one had about 100 pages of heavily redacted stuff mostly about his college days. I am sure they all had files right after that.

I wonder if other Freepers have the same kind of "random" treatment at airports?

The last several times I flew on a commercial airliner, I was pulled aside, asked to step behind a curtain, and some (usually fat) lady would pat me down. And this was before they started the latest round of indignities in order to get on a plane.

For the record, I am barely 5"2" and weigh right at 100 pounds. I am in my 70's and have no record of any kind, other than a speeding ticket about 20 years ago.

I figure that somewhere, somehow, I got on somebody's list.

I will never board another airplane. If I can't drive there, I don't go there. That's why I drove from my home in Texas to DC twice this year--once for the 9/11 rally, and once for the 2A rally.

This is a beautiful country from sea to shinning sea, and I look forward to more cross country trips.

I agree with you. Once you get used to long-distance driving, it grows on you. Also, with satellite radio and podcasts, I never get bored as there are always interesting things to listen to. I'm driving out to Chicago to visit family in a few weeks (from Boston) and plan to make a Las Vegas auto trip in the spring. Looking forward to both trips.

After 13 months of using weapons in Iraq I dare the obama thugs to come after me. They may get me but it will cost them dearly.

Get some, doc. We've got your back.

>There will be no CWII as so many like to imagine on this and other boards.

Consider this: in 2014 it will become a felony not to have health insurance, real unemployment is about 20% and will likely become higher (especially when one considers the increase in taxes and government regulation on what industries we *DO* have left).

A goddamned felony, for not ‘buying’ something you probably won’t need [insurance IS gambling, look at their usage of statistics if you don’t believe me]... insofar as I know, this is even if you are unemployed. At that point, when the government can tell me that I MUST use the fruits of my labor to buy this, or be stripped of my rights what reason, pray tell, do I have for not ‘earning’ my rights/liberties/life taken from me by committing the [arguable] murder* of government agents?

*Is it murder to defend yourself using violence from someone attempting extortion?

This is how I have foreseen it.

They will use health care as a tool to make one a felon so you will not be able to legally own a weapon or legally vote, further entrenching their power.

You will most likely need to report your weapons and each will be taxed as a rider on your health plan as it is dangerous to ones health and will be used to offset added health care costs (sin tax).

Well, if that should be the way they want to play ball, then I honestly don’t see why people *shouldn’t* kill themselves as many bureaucrats/”law enforcement”/”representatives”/”Judges” as they possibly can. If each of even so few as a million pissed-off-people killed an average of TWO such tyrants... how crippled would the government be?

What it’ll come down to, I think, are those who cry “Peace! Peace at any cost!” or “It is unchristian not to submit to authority!” verses those who will say “Let us give death to the ‘Caesars’ who demand for themselves what is God’s [inalienable gift of Rights to us].”

Inalienable -–adjective
Not alienable; NOT TRANSFERABLE TO ANOTHER OR CAPABLE OF BEING REPUDIATED: inalienable rights.

Repudiate —verb (used with object), -at·ed, -at·ing.
1. to reject as having no authority or binding force: to repudiate a claim.
2. to cast off or disown: to repudiate a son.
3. to reject with disapproval or condemnation: to repudiate a new doctrine.
4. to reject with denial: to repudiate a charge as untrue.
5. to refuse to acknowledge and pay (a debt), as a state, municipality, etc.

There will be no CWII as so many like to imagine on this and other boards.

Pretty much what the Finns thought when the Finnish Socialists took over and planned on joining the Soviet Union as a *Soviet State* of the USSR.

Four months later, there about one percent of the Finnish population was dead. It took us four years in the US Civil War to kill off 2%, and of those who died in Finland, only about a quarter were combat casualties; the rest were put against a wall and shot, or used by the rookies for bayonet practice.

Some of the kids got pretty good at sticking Socialists....
