Goodbye Columbus Day, Goodbye Fourth of July!
The Canada Free Press ^ | 10/12/2010 | Daniel Greenfield

About the only factor still keeping Columbus on the calendar in places like New York is his role in the Italian-American community, which has made many Mayors and Governors reluctant to toss the great explorer completely overboard. But the very fact that Columbus’ place in history now comes down to a single ethnic group’s pride, rather than his role in the discovery and development of the entire country, shows just how fragmented American history has become. While Ferdinand and Isabella may have brought Columbus back in chains, modern day political correctness banishes him to the darkened dungeon of non-personhood, erasing him from history and replacing him with a note reading, “I’m Sorry We Ever Discovered America.”

But this is about more than one single 15th century Genoan with a complicated life who was neither a monster nor a saint. It is about whether America really has any right to exist at all. Is there any argument against celebrating Columbus Day that cannot similarly be applied to celebrating the 4th of July?

I had a package to mail to my sweetie, yet yesterday the Post Office was closed. Similarly, the banks were closed.

If these Commies want to protest Columbus Day, the first "outrage" they can address is that ALL commerce resume on that day. ALL FEDERAL EMPLOYEES shall report to work like it is an ordinary day, like the rest of us have to. Same deal goes for the day they celebrate the birthday of that Pinko, Commie, rabblerousing, womanizer, King.

BTW, when I went to the P.O. today, one of the women working the counter had such a foul attitude I wanted to tell her, "Oh, you need a day off. Go ahead, why don't you take another one today!"

Make room for September 11, Muslim Victory Day.

No pork but plenty of ligitimate honor killings on that day.

Is that why I didn’t get my mail yesterday? Whoever tells the postal workers that they won’t get Columbus Day off better wear a bullet proof vest.

It won’t stop at Columbus Day or 4th of July. It won’t stop until all vestiges of White Western culture, heroes and symbols are completely purged. The founders, evil slaves holders don’t you know, and even the American flag are not immune form any of this. Unless or until Whites stand up to preserve their history & culture it will all be destroyed in the name of egalitarian multiculturalism and replaced with new ones just like our current population.

Postal Ping.

Are the same folks whining about Columbus Day those in favor of stopping Saturday delivery?

It evens out. A lot of people get the day after Thanksgiving off, Christmas Eve off, even get a holiday for New Years Eve while postal workers work. But for anybody who really thinks getting Columbus Day off is the end all prize, I would suggest looking into taking the Postal exam. Make 100 and you get to take Columbus Day off.

I'm white, so I'd have to get 110 to make it.

You do get extra points for being a vet, so a score over 100 is possible. That’s why the postal service is filled with veterans. Support the troops, pay bills by mail and not online.
