“The last time a lot of us here were complaining about a S CT Decision was Kelo. That wasn’t recent”.

That would be wrong. The last time was when SCOTUS ruled that the EPA can control carbon emissions in the Roberts court. But I still think KELO would have been a better answer because SCOTUS has been overreaching and getting worse for a long time regardless of the political makeup of its members. So its not about Roberts v pre Roberts. It was the current court that handed all power to the EPA re all things carbon. She could have mentioned that but to my mind KELO was a more politically advantageous ruling that she could have mentioned. More people understand the government taking your property away than those who understand the global warming subject.

Why was it on SNL? Because it is a National Race.

Christine wins big with the superficial voter that saw this debate.

I’m pleased by Christine’s performance in the debate.

But Delaware is as Liberal as Maryland, and the Republican has no chance in Maryland.

I think Christine wins because she’s so strong, and she showed her strength in the debate.

That strength is partially based on superficialities.

If you need to hear before every answer a sentence about how much time is needed to answer the question, Coons did well by you.

I think a funny youtube would be Coons saying over and over “oh, where do I start” and the like.

Christine was on point, answering the questions.

And Christine doesn’t poison people. So, she has that advantage over Coons, the poisoner.

The people and State of Delaware are too universally corrupt to elect a principled small government conservative.

This is a State(and people) that I think should not be permitted to share a union(Government) with the power to redistribute wealth.

Of course this is something I must say about a lot of leftist(collectivist/socialist/statist) people and states.

A good comeback would have been “I will uphold my oath of office to support and defend the constitution and that would be the current one with all its 27 amendments”.

I don’t get the poll that says women don’t support her. Every woman I know does! Course I know few liberal women.

But then I don’t get the entire media, FOX included, that claim Independents are moderate. NOT true! ESP in the NE, the Republicans left them, which is a main reason the are Independent. NE Republicans are NOT conservative, as a rule. Independents in the NE tend to be more conservative than the Republicans.

We are clearly on different wavelengths here. I don’t think COD is superficial or appealing to those who decide based on superficialities.
On the contrary I think her appeal is to reasonable people and to people who are fed up with the status quo and the Democrat way of governing.
But, sadly, that is a lot of people.
Again, ymmv. I say it’s Coons who appeals to the shallow. 0bama is president, Joe Biden is vice-president. On that I shall rest my case.

I kinda feel sorry for Delaware because your ability to create jobs is waning hard. If government handouts become the majority you are under-water. The South is picking up all the big corps.

Correction...past my bedtime...meant to say that is NOT a lot of people, to whom COD appeals.

You are so very very wrong.

There’s a reason they put pretty women on the covers of magazines. People pay money to look at pretty women like Christine.

They don’t pay money to look at creepy balding Coons.

You “say” that Coons appeals to the shallow.

That’s ridiculous.

Obama is good looking. Tall dark and mysterious.

Coons looks like a troll.

That’s the superficialities involved.

Wow, you are so far far off base.

The left will like Coons
The right will like Christine.
And the middle AS ALWAYS will take the pretty one.
That’s Christine. DUH.

Who wouldn’t have some rough spots when debating THREE PEOPLE? And how often did Coons get really pressed to provide specifics? Yes, he gave “fully-formed arguments”, because every other sentence wasn’t interrupted, as was often the case with O’Donnell. I’m not ready to annoint Coons as the second coming.

That’s what he was to the women in 2008. You did say that superficialities were what brought Obama to the Presidency.

He was hip and cool and McCain was way too old. That what the superficial people thought. And they go on appearances.

Christine wins hands down on appearance. And that’s a huge component of superficiality.

She made points referring to “trust fund” and “i paid my own way through college”

I’m telling you; Christine is doing great. If Delaware elects that dufus brain, Coons, over her, they are stupid. 40 minutes into the Debate; Christine is kicking butt and taking names.

I’ll not post any more re: The O’Donnell / Coons Delaware Senate Debate. But, Christine is the winner. Anyone who lives within 100 miles of Delaware needs to volunteer to help her win on November 2.

I'm not asking you to. I'm just trying to look at the debate as the people of Delaware would have seen it -- especially those who are not already sold on Christine O'Donnell.

Leaving aside the unpleasantness of his views for the moment, Coons came across much better in his responses than O'Donnell did. That's just true.

Now take into account that a lot of Delaware voters more or less agree with Coons on many of his views.... well, he won't have lost any of them after tonight's debate, and he probably gained among independents.

As for "every other sentence" being interrupted -- that's not what I heard. The moderators did enforce the time limits for both candidates, but Coons always stopped immediately when time was called, while O'Donnell tended to natter on.

You may be referring to the "discussion times," where candidates were expected to have a back-and-forth discussion on a topic, and that led to interruptions by both candidates. IMO, the "discussion topics" part really didn't work very well.

“The people and State of Delaware are too universally corrupt to elect a principled small government conservative”.

WTF! We just selected a come from nowhere conservative over an entrenched inside the beltway GOP supported RINO 40 year congressman to run for a senate seat vacated by a 30 year liberal dem. We must be doing something right. The fact is that there are enough principled, stick by your guns conservatives in this state that we are taking shit from other cons for maybe giving up a definite RINO senate seat Universally corrupt? Give me a break.
