This is probably O’Donnell’s last, best chance to nail Coons on his record on taxes, spending, and the like. Economic issues are what independent voters (and squishy Republicans) want to hear about in this race. O’Donnell has the right positions, and Coons doesn’t. She *has* to drive that home. IMHO, O’Donnell shouldn’t waste one solitary moment defending herself against the ‘witch’ charges or any other silliness.
Being a red son of a bitch marxist apparently doesn’t have to be defended against, its not like anybody is going to call him him a communist and his positions as right off the CPUSA website.
Absolutely. If and when the ball-headed Marxist brings up any of that witch and other Maher crapola, Christine has to look at him icily and say, “Chris, let’s stick with the issues.” If the leftwing host brings the crapola up, she needs to look at him and say, “Gentlemen, let’s stick with the issues. The people of Delaware have too much at stake to turn this into a childish witch hunt.” Then, she should segue into something like, “For example, here’s an issue the people of this great state have brough up to me time and again, everywhere I have gone ...” Then == Boom! — into whatever issue suits her best.
With most “extreme” candidates (the word that libs and squishy RINOs use, not my word) like O’Donnell, Angle, etc., their positions are never the problem, it’s how they present them, and, more importantly, how their positions, and their “baggage,” is presented by the media.
Conservatives rarely lose for being too conservative. They lose for not effectively MARKETING their conservatism to those who would support them, and effectively explaining and disclosing anything that could be construed as baggage. Many candidates like COD who are relatively inexperienced politically just haven’t figured out how to do that. Palin’s another good example. Her positions aren’t that different from Reagan’s, yet Reagan was elected in a landslide, and Palin would probably have lost as big as McCain in ‘08 had she been at the top of the ticket. To Palin’s credit she has made great strides in improving the image she has (whether she’s a candidate in ‘12 or not).
