Christine ODonnell, the Republican Delaware Senate candidate, and her Democratic opponent, Chris Coons, hurled personal attacks at each other in a nationally-televised debate Wednesday night.
A feisty, aggressive Ms. ODonnell called Mr. Coons a Marxist whose beliefs came from a socialist professor and said he would rubber stamp the policies of the Democrats in Washington. Mr. Coons raised questions about whether Ms. ODonnells faith would drive her positions on social issues like abortion, prayer and evolution.
Pressed by CNN anchor Wolf Blitzer, Ms. ODonnell refused to say whether she believed evolution was a myth, saying that what I believe is irrelevant. As she did throughout the first half of the debate, Ms. ODonnell quickly tried to return the focus to Mr. Coons, saying, I would argue there are more people who support my Catholic faith than his Marxist belief.

Thats BEARDED Marxist....
Zing!
Rats won’t go on Fox. Why do Pubbies go on the LSM or debate with Rat moderators? No Rat faces these kinds of questions.
I just don’t understand.
Finally, someone who’ll stand up for what America wants....and what we want is not marxism!
New blood! Love it. Take notice Republicans in office.
GAWD, I despise pablum crap and propoganda that passes for journalism.
But Republicans have to hold their own in some media even if it's in enemy territory.
Kinda shows dems are afraid to get out of their leftist media safe rooms. lol
Just what the heck can you call a Marxist if you can’t call him a Marxist?
Could Wolf Blitzer have been any more biased or obnoxious. He attacked O’Donnell constantly.
She held up quite well, I thought.
The only thing I took away from watching the tail end of the debate is the Supreme Court flub - which WILL be bantered about the liberal media tomorrow. I’m sorry, guys, but I think they’ve successfully Dan Quayled her.
I hope that all Delawarans, no matter their particular religious beliefs, hear exactly how what Coons is really saying here.
God bless this woman who speaks the TRUTH!!!
Go Rogue Baby!
I’m not sure. Coons came off as such a condescending elitist and people don’t like that. It had shades of the first Bush/Gore debate where everyone said Gore won and even the post debate TV polls after the debate called Gore the winner. However, Bush went up in the polls because the people just didn’t like how Gore came across.
She didn’t hit a home run but didn’ t do any damage either.
COD: "My opponent's family stands to profit financially from Cap and Trade"
Coons: "I don't even know what she is talking about. She is incoherent."
Blitzer: "What are you talking about? Do you have proof."
COD: "His family owns Gore-tex. They are a major producer of fuel sales, which we will all have to use if cap and tax passes."
Coons: "My company makes lots of things including dental floss. Fuels cells are a very small part of the company, and will only be a small part of the company unless cap and tax passes, so I don't know what she is talking about.
What kills me about this is that women just seem to hate other powerful political women. This is the same phenomenon that hurt palin. the majority of women just hated her. I asked women at work and they couldn’t put a finger on it. It was all emotional BS. Men are supporting coons but only by 6 points or so. Women are for Coons by a LARGE margin. I just don’t get this catfight jealosy crap.
O’Donnel trounced the agitated bald Bolshevik and he came off as a smug, canned bureaucrat. O’Donnel gave Coons an education and did it with good will and aplomb and flummoxed the hostile Wolf Blitzkrieg. Bewitching!
Isn't that precisely what COD was talking about? Am I missing something, or is the quote in error?
