Heads up: The Paycheck Fairness Act (PFA) is back on the table. Should it pass, the PFA will likely make employers lives much harder. Where it could hurt you
The Society for Human Resource Management recently highlighted four major areas of concern for companies. The bill would:
make employers liable for unlimited punitive damages under the Fair Labor Standards Act even for unintentional pay disparities
eliminate current limits on the amount of back pay and punitive and compensatory damages employees can receive
wipe out the requirement that employees must give written consent to become a party in an Equal Pay Act class action setting the stage for more class action lawsuits against employers, and
limit an employers flexibility to pay workers based on current law criteria (cost-of-living differences among geographic locations, different work responsibilities, etc.)
The bill has been criticized by business groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, and opponents feel the unlimited damages provision has the potential to destroy smaller businesses.
More business owners are going to go Gault.
What’s wrong with leveling the playing field and providing Social Justice through government regulation? < / Sarc Mega Sarc Ridicule
This is another attempted scam and economic assault on business by lawyers and liberal politicians.
More regs, more litigation, more uncertainty. But why aren’t these companies hiring?
Arguing for lower tax rates is all well and good, but it’s this type of nonsense that really puts a chilling effect on commerce.
Didn’t Pravda comment on these policies 50 years ago.....regarding the Soviet Union!!!!?????
This bill is obviously to encourage people to have more children and larger families. Because only trusted family members will be hired to work at any company.
This is one the most commie bills I’ve ever heard of.
I will close my two businesses and shutdown until Capitalism is restored.

Making Life Fair, one 7000 page bill at a time....
Bump.
*sigh* bump
Expect more temporary help.Looks like Bill Gates was on track when he made all employees at Microsoft temps only?.
Do I understand this correctly?
Is every business supposed to pay everyone equally?
The janitor in the hospital gets the same wages as the brain surgeon or head administrator?
If so- I don’t see paying the janitor the same money as my higher skilled employees.
I only see telling my higher skilled employees that I cannot pay them more than the janitor——the Congress says so.
Am I mistaken?
please clarify. Thx.
