Is independent Tom Tancredo now becoming the de facto Republican candidate for governor of Colorado? Hes now moved to within four points of Democrat John Hickenlooper to turn the race into a toss-up.
The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of Likely Voters in Colorado finds Hickenlooper with 42% support, while Tancredo, the candidate of the American Constitution Party, earns 38% of the vote. Support for Republican Dan Maes continues to fall and now stands at 12%. Two percent (2%) prefer some other candidate, and six percent (6%) are undecided.
Less than two weeks ago, Tancredo earned 35% of the vote to Hickenloopers 43% and Maes 16%. That shifted the race from Solid Democrat to Leans Democrat in the Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 Gubernatorial Scorecard. Now the race moves to a Toss-Up.

This is MASSIVE!
Go Tom!
Will Maes drop out?
Go Tanc! Beat the Chickenpooper!
I don't understand how Maes has any supporters?? Must be the "party first" people. *ugh*
Good news.
Wow. Tancredo may win, even with Maes in the race.
A vote for Maes is a vote for Hickenlooper.
Looks like a “Safe D” pick up for the dems, just ask stu rotheberg or Charlie Cook or Chris Matthews for that matter.
The CRP needs to get out the word and this is over. They should be held accountable for every vote for Maes.
Be still my heart.
I read somewhere that if Maes goes below 10%, the GOP is demoted to minor party status for the next two elections. That’s why they are trying to prop up this political corpse.
I didn't think Tancredo had a snowball's chance in Texas in August to pull this close, but if this trend keeps up.... YaHOOOOOOOO!!!
LOL!! Too funny!
He needs to! Man, this is rather big...sends a big message. Only if the repub stands to the side and lets this have a chance.
“Must be the “party first” people. *ugh*”
Yup.
Who is Dan Maes exactly? Why hasn’t this person dropped out. How did he get nominated in this first place? I don’t remember him being a Tea Party candidate.
Scott McInnis must be gnashing is teeth and laughing at the same time.
