Consider it a sign that we’re winning the Second Amendment debate. Republicans need to find another differentiating issue to campaign on, because they can no longer count on this one.

Democrats are understanding that they can’t make gains in power by attacking the right of self defense.

Of course, to achieve what they really want, they will HAVE to address this little bugaboo sooner or later.

Very true. While there is considerable whining about the NRA being bi-partisan, particularly right here on FR, where there tends to be those who are never going to be pleased until they, themselves are in office, We have made great headway in the 2A issues and the NRA has been right at the forefront of it.Right here in Texas,in the last decade or so, we have gained CCW,and, just a few years ago, the law was changed to allow the carry of a loaded weapon in your automobile without a permit. Now there are going to be those here who say that was our right anyway. Maybe so, but I bet they weren't arrested before the the law was changed, either.
There is always going to be two, or more political parties in this country, folks. The fact that the NRA is ABLE to endorse some dems shows that second amendment issues have made big strides forward in most areas. The NRA has endorsed Chet Edwards in my district, but I'm not going to be voting for Chet. I'd be far more aggravated with the NRA if they endorsed Bloomberg ,even though he was a Republican. The NRA needs some people on their side on both sides of the aisle, and it doesn't take much thought to see why. That is the way to keep anti-gun legislation suppressed no matter who is in power.
All those that have cancelled their memberships to the NRA, and/or have stopped donating to them ought to re-think the NRA’s purpose. The GOA and SAF are fine, I support both of those organizations, but they are a non issue to the media and most politicians, where the NRA carries the respect of both parties, save for a few rabid dogs like Schumer, Lautenberg, Bloomberg, etc.
