I recently visited Saipan (largest island in the "Northern Mariannas Confederation).
Saipan was a Japanese "protectorate" from 1918 until 1944. Saipan is a Japanese resort area. Their Main St. looks like Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills. There are literally thousands of Japanese (and some Taiwanese, Mainland Chinese and South Koreans) swarming the streets.
The aiport for Saipan was named "Aslito Field" when the Japanese held the island. When we captured the Island, the airport was renamed "Isley Field" for a Naval Aviator killed during the battle for Saipan. The airport has been renamed "Aslito Airport".
The US government has spent $97 Million + (this is not all that is "committed").
Go to the link for the info. The photo is of the ARRA sign at the Saipan Airport (which is beautiful by the way)

Into Obama’s stash?
Teachers Unions, UAW, ACORN, SEIU, Organizing for AmeriKKKa, Van Jones, William Ayers, etc, etc...
Over $2 million to build a fence and ticket booth at our local fair ground. That’s a federal concern, right?
I do know that the stimulus went to repair sidewalks in my town..
I think there’s a followthemoney.gov kind of website that biden was supposedly overseeing. That will account for every dime. Little erin brockobamavich said so. I think they’re about 2 years behind updating it, though.
Doesn’t the Northern Marianas also include Guam? There is a lot of military relocation occurring on Guam due to the closure of bases in Japan.
The stimulus money is stimulating the stock market before the election.
Great, we sent money to “half a day.” (Hafa Adai (pronounced HALF A DAY) is “Hello” in Chamorro, the native language of the Northern Marianas. It’s also how long they work and they joke about it.) Corruption is rampant and they live off the U.S. teet while raking in tourist money. Best sea food I’ve ever had though at the Hilton all-you-can-eat buffet.
First, I haven’t read the article......
I call Bullsh!t! I’m sitting in Saipan as I type. There is NO Way the main drag here, called Beach Road, looks like Rodeo Drive. I’m in the Merchant Marines and been coming here for years. I’ve got a lot of close friends here on the island.
This used to be a great place, but the DEMS insisted on getting rid of the garment industry here by insisting on minimun wages for the US territories. Since then, the island economy has gone to crap.
Live and let live..
I could go on and on, but I’m in a bar called Round 2, and been here long time....
