Right; the purpose of citing the statistic was to show there is and has been a problem with male-on-male sexual assault in the military. It is also only one VAMC. It went under reported for years, both male and female rape, mostly because the response from superiors was less than respective of the allegations and, often, the perpetrator was the victim’s direct superior.
Unfortunately the % of women who were raped in the miliary who are seen at the VA or the Vet Center is miniscule
The % of reported rapes is less than the civilian population and that is at best only 10%
Women were punished in the AirForce and tossed out as “unfit” for talking...
Thus making null and void and lies anything the victim said
the Army etc was not much better...
But the Air Force has always prided itself in being a nice place for women to be so they have kept mum about any “alleged” rapes or molestation or sexual harrassment...
And had few records of rapes...
and unfortunately they still do ...
Regardless of their fancy front...
